I get that Bama is now the perennial favorite and sometimes it can feel like everyone is playing for 2nd place, but there are teams that "have a shot" each year depending on schedule, injuries, etc. Some years it's Auburn. Some years LSU, some UGA, Florida, etc. even A&M... But what if you're Kentucky, Miss. State, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and you know deep down you have zero shot at a title. How do you get excited about football?

I get excited for college football period. Doesn't matter if my team is doing well or not.

I could ask the same about Auburn basketball. Why does your arena ever have fans in it?

Support your alma mater and use trips to the game as a chance to see old friends, visit the campus, and create life long memories with your family.

Realize that the game is supposed to be an escape. Only one team wins the SEC. Only one team will win the national championship. Don't tie your self worth to the performance of young men playing a game.

Haven't you been getting on to Kentucky fans for turning football threads into basketball threads?

How do you get excited about women when you have no real shot.

Kentucky fans would talk about basketball in early September in the middle of football season. It's the off-season. I can talk about whatever sport I want.

I bet you're a blast to hang out with.

You either:
1. Didn't attend Auburn and therefore have no ties to the university besides watching the football team
2. Have no real friends that you enjoy seeing at games and spending time with.
3. Put way too much of your self worth into the outcome of games you have no control over

My guess is all 3

Because football is fun to watch.

Unless your offensive coordinator is Jim Chaney.

Impossible we've been assured by Auburn fans no one outside of college graduates of Auburn pull for the cow college.

3/4 of those teams had "a shot" in the past 5 years. It's rare that you see someone argue a point and cite contradicting evidence to prove it.
