Sans Bama, the SEC is a dumpster fire.

Some traditional powers such as UT, Florida, LSU, UGA, and Auburn are blazing dumpsters loaded onto freight cars and smashed into each other.

How did we get here?

LSU almost wasn't a dumpster fire

Very probably should have been a 10-2 season. Thanks Les.

The SEC's returning to its pre-2006 form it seems. Honestly, in any conference's peak years, it's not dominant from top to bottom.

The Big Ten is returning to its former 90s glory right now.

They all started firing people. Also, QB play fell off the map.

Injuries have devastated a lot of teams.

#1 factor imo

How much better would LSU, UF and AU be with a good QB?

Meyer left
Spurrier, Miles and Richt declined and left

Every team would be better with better players.

Having a decent QB is part of it.

Why have none been developed?

Meyer was a Mountain West coach, Spurrier and Richt were groomed into excellence in the ACC, and Miles was a Big 12 coach.

A lot of non SEC schools on an upswing. We will see if they sustain once their players start declaring for the draft early.

I had this convo with my FSU buddy. He was complaining about how many players left after their championship.

Because most of the administrators have gone stupid, listened to fans, and give coaches ridiculous expectations just to fire them three years later and reset their program. Wash, rinse, repeat of this cycle through most of the SEC programs.

No salary cap on coaches. No cap on top talent all going to one school. This leads to the majority of SEC fans not really caring anymore.

Parity helps the SEC as a whole drum up overall fan support, but it doesn't make as much money as Bama winning. Cleatus and Praline in Hickville, Alabama, will buy way more Bama gear than Jim and Jill down in Florida. The SEC has sold its soul for the almighty dollar. Can't say I blame them.

The rest of the schools will simply take it in the arse so long as the money is there. I hope Cleatus and Praline keep buying commemorative plates rather than saving for their kid's college. That is the only thing keeping this SEC together, $$$.

All of the good coaches either quit or got fired.
