It's not all that hard to simply look up who owns a phone number. Any lawyer worth their salt would be tracking down every single person on the call list to see who they are and what their relation to the caller is. Cheating spouses get popped in divorce proceedings via phone records all the time.

Escorts post their number all over. Google will quickly pull up backpage ads and other sites they advertise on.
