Not a big fan of Johnsonville. They can spend as much as they want on advertising. Not going to sway me.

Their sausage in general is a bit flavorless compared to some of the sausages we eat, especially in Louisiana.

And especially compared to even bigger ones in Texas.

Johnsonville. Ads all over the SECN. Sheboygan Hills, Wisconsin. They've only been selling in the south for the last 15 years or so. But now we've adopted them?

Bryant Denny sells Polk sausage from Magee, MS.

Conecuh or GTFO.

When I moved to VA and couldn't find Conecuh, and no one knew what tomato gravy was, I realized I was no longer in the south.

Two things you never want to see made: Lawyers and Sausage CEO's.

Bryan is in West Point, MS but I think they sold out to Chicago several years ago.

I think it was Sarah Lee that own them but it was more than several years ago. I prefer deer sausage from Lee's in Byrum but Country Pleasin comes very close in consistency. I don't think either does a Brat though. That's a whole lot different than putting a link of jalopena cheese sausage on a bun. Cooking a brat is a several step process and I don't think a regular sausage would work.

???? - I mentioned in my post. I just prefer deer sausage I guess because I harvested the animal. I have never seen the pig that goes into Country Pleasin but they are probably best around if your only source is Kroger.
