I think it's great when the kids get to start the season with a big game.

You gotta know Kyle Allen is gonna be amped for this one, too, given his Arizona roots. Should be a fun QB duel

Much like USC last year, I feel like ASU will be a paper tiger.

USC lacked depth last season due to roster limits imposed by the Reggie Bush/NCAA sanctions. ASU doesn't have any such issues. They're good.

I hope we walk the dog on 'em and ASU still goes on to win the Pac-12. Would be nice to look back on it as a statement win should we win and not fool's gold like USC last year.

But this is just the trap of preseason rankings...no one truly knows how good anyone is until 2 or 3 games in.

Based on reports from camp, our defense is leaps and bounds better under Chavis. Many of the young guys have had an offseason to get bigger/stronger/faster. We get some much needed help at LB and DB from Juco and return from injuries.

I just don't see how our defense will be worse than middle of the pack, and if we had that last year, we'd have won quite a few more games.

All we need is a mediocre defense, I agree.

ASU has a solid group of returning players from all three (OF, DF, ST). ASU 37- aTm 24

Chavis will give up 500 yards to ASU. His best player on that defense is an de that still looks like pancake from what sec teams did to him.

I've picked ASU a while ago. I wonder if some people realize just how good that team will be.

It's a 10 win team for sure, and that offense can match TAMU and actually outdo it because they have a running game.

bend but don't break is going to give up points to the pac 12 schools

plus garret still has syrup all over him from the pancaking he received when playing legit schools. sorry he can't rack up sacks against legit competition. plus chavis ruins defensive pass rush

If our defense just shows some attitude... If they play well enough so that at least once in every quarter I'm grinning and nodding while looking to my wife in the seat beside me, then we will win this game by at least 15.

They don't have to be awesome this year. If they're just mad and a little mean then we'll be alright.

EDIT: Confident prediction: We get more rushing yards than they do this night.

Usc had no depth and Asu does...

This isn't tough to comprehend.

Depth of 2 and 3 stars. Pac 12 South recruiting hasn't been on the level of SEC West recruiting for quite some time.
