my hs didn't even have football so...

I think his wife is a bit peculiar. I'd imagine you could hold her against him. That's just off the top of my head.
The next most obvious way to not like him is to reside in the state of Arkansas. For some reason, that's like automatic. I think I heard somewhere that Malzahn has never won a bowl at Auburn. Maybe some arkansas folks can confirm that.

I don't think Gus' resume was strong enough at that point for texas to call. I have no idea though
