How Can So Many Different Coaches Win Big At Auburn????

Every coach I can think of has won big at Auburn at some point in his career and it is usually early on to immediately. Terry Bowden won his first 20 in a row. Chiz won a Natty in only his 2nd year. Gus with a DB at QB that never even went through Spring.

Is it mainly our fertile recruiting grounds and having such close proximity to Ga, Fla, Tenn, SCar, and of course in state talent in Alabama?

Is it tradition?

Is it Bama and us making each other better due to stiff competition?

What do you guys think? And don't give me shite about paying players! We went 3-9 (0-8) last year.

Auburn is a good program who just doesn't seem to be as consistent as winning as Bama or LSU in the west. They come around every few years and are just nasty (04, 06, 10, 13). I may be leaving 1 or 2 out, and they are usually a solid 8-4 team in the out years

I think their recruiting is good, not great, some years, and when their great classes become upperclassmen, Auburn competes

That's how I see it at least

We NEVER accept mediocrity and neither does BAMA. We make each other better by trying to keep up.

I seriously think that Cam Newton did all the coaching that year. Cause other years, Auburn was mediocre at best. I liked Auburn teams when their defense was down right nasty. I enjoyed watched those teams a lot, cause they were always good, and never really had a bad season. Coach was a bit of an arse though

How come Auburn can't sustain success like big boys?

They are really good or really bad.

Pretty much. We have all the advantages of a major program and recruit well with an occasional elite class or two. When the occasional elite class we get gets to be upperclassmen we tend to field a championship level team and capitalize. AU is one program that generally gets the most out of its talent when the opportunity is there.
