Cooper was the best non-coordinator assistant coach in the SEC.

When he was at Carolina they had one of the best Secondaries when he left they went to shite.

I don't expect the fall off to be as dramatic at LSU, but there will be some drop off.

For 2012, little if any. Down the road, hard to say but at least a little. Les has a stelar record with assistant coaches though so I'm not too worried.

Cooper was a great coach, but not the strongest of recruiters.

Corey Raymond should be an upgrade in that area.

South Carolina went from one of the best past defenses to one of the worst in the course of one season once Cooper left.

Cooper is a hell of a coach regardless of his lack of recruiting abilities.

Well 3 stars turned into Thorpe's winners will be a lot less frequent dont care how good LSU can recruit.

How do you know? What if Raymond picks up right where cooper left off?
Pretty sure Claiborne was the only 3 star Thorpe winner from LSU so it's not frequent at LSU to begin with.

Of course. Now that he's gone he gets all the credit. How convenient.

Cooper was amazing but Raymond is also a very good coach. Considering the talent we have stockpiled in the DB corps I don't see a noticeable drop off from their play anytime soon at least. Amazing to me a guy as SUPER talented as Ronnie Vinson fell on the depth chart enough to transfer. Just shows me how sickening the talent is there.

Dude, STFU. If this was your beloved Tahd we're talking about, you'd be telling us the same thing we're telling you

I was just wondering the other day why the supposed DB guru can't get a guy drafted above a Ron Cooper guy? It's not like y'all aren't recurring DBs. What gives??

Cooper is a better DB coach than Saban to me. I was impressed with his secondaries at Carolina.

The secondaries at LSU sucked before he got there. I still remember Chris Hawkins and Phelon Jone routinely getting owned.

Chad Jones would have reached his potential under Cooper.

A lot of State fans give Cooper at least partial credit for taking down Sherrill's program at State. I've never seen so many deep passes against my team than when Cooper was coaching our DB's.
