Moved a former 5* safety to wr, kid had 2 picks in his first scrimmage, but appearently a source said Saban told him he needed him there.
FWIW I think this kid is the only guy that could start on any team going both ways in the country, kid was special.

Damn that is weird considering how weak we are at safety.

The coaching staff seems to like the talent we have at WR. It's young but very talented. Plus we have Calvin Ridley coming in this summer.

He's probably going to get RS this season and move back to DB next season. The A-Day offensive MVPs were two WRs in Robert Foster ( former 5*) and Ardarius Stewart (former 4*). WR corp also includes Chris Black ( rated higher then Cooper in HS), Oregon St. transfer, and two incoming Fr. in Calvin Ridley and Daylon Charlet. Saban moves players around all the time their freshman year.

i think he's still at DB, just had a couple of practices at WR to see what he could do there. bama has added several receivers since that time and thompson is back with the safeties.

well, alrighty then. guess he's showing out at WR.

i think most bama fans would agree that the situation at safety is worse than the situation at WR.

back in the spring Saban said the move would only be for a couple of practices. Thompson must have showed them something they really like

Exactly. I wonder if SAban is fricking up with this one because we don't have a standout at safety like we usually do. Maybe he's the next Amari.

Their leading returning wide receiver had like 12 catches last year and half of those came against Georgia State. They don't have a single proven receiver on the entire team

Thompson is very athletic and can play both sides of the ball. I bet he will move back to safety after this season. Calvin Ridley will provide the needed depth at WR which will facilitate Thompson's move back to Safety.

Auburn's leading returning rusher had like 200 yards rushing, with his best game coming against San Jose St. They dont have a single proven running back on the entire team.

Are you worried about them being able to run the ball?

I am not worried and you are an idiot for trying to make the comparison. Every starting tailback under Malzahn has had at least a thousand yards rushing. He has even had two quarterbacks that had over a thousand yards rushing

What happened to that WR Bama got out of New Orleans a couple years ago? I remember yall bragging about him catching everything thrown to him in practice but he hasn't been heard from since.

The way Bama has recruited their WR situation is probably better than all but 5 to 8 colleges in the country.

Talent isn't ever going to be the problem at Bama until they tank a coaching hire.
