Seemed kind of pointless. Bama wasn't going to connect on a hail mary. It served its purpose though.

I thought it was the right move, bama would not drive 50yds in 01 but why give them the chance for a 15 lateral kickoff return or hail Mary?

If the kicker touches it inside 10 yards or bama recovers, they've got a Hail Mary to win the game

Should have squib-kicked it, instead. That way the clock runs out while bama laterals it a few times.
What I really didn't understand was that pooch kickoff after Clemson's second to last TD. Wtf? Gave bama great field position, which they then took advantage of.
