How are traveling team expenses/itineraries decided?

When a SEC team (using yesterday games as example) like Tennessee travels to Texas A&M for a football game:
1. Who pays the UT travel expenses (airfare, hotels, meals, transportation of equipment from Knoxville to College Station)?
2. The visiting team hotel - who chooses this hotel? Is it the host team that blocks rooms at a certain hotel for an entire season on game weekends for visiting teams to use?

AD pays for things.
Team sets up their hotels.

But who covers visiting team's expenses? Is it the responsibility of the visiting team or does the host team pick up the tab?
Guess question is the same when we play the OOC "cupcake" games. I know the host SEC pays a large amount of money to these smaller schools. Does the smaller school have to pay its expenses from this money?

That comes out of the money they get paid to come play.
There was a famous coach that blew a big wad of money because a big school was giving their players steak, and his was going to eat hamburgers and hot dogs. He said my players deserve steak too.

All expenses are picked up by each school on their own. Everything from plane to meals are on your own dime. Its built into your budget just like recruiting or coaches salaries. The conference or even host school has zero control over how u travel or where u stay.

In a situation such as the LSU-UF game, I am sure UF would assist in the coordinating to help with all the changes should LSU have any issues getting anything set up on such short notice.

All expenses are paid for by the travelling team. All arrangements are made by the travelling team.
interesting fact:
When a team plays in, best example, the national championship game, ultimately that team loses the most.
Because of the magnitude of the game, the school will take, and pay for, all sorts of personnel costing thousands. They will stay at the site for many days, again costing thousands.
Now since the SEC splits all revenues, the other conference schools that never participated get the same money while never having to pay for anything.

No, they don't. The schools are paid for travel expenses before the bowl money is divvied up.

Yeah I believe schools lose money from bowls from the unsold tickets - the school buys X amount of tickets from the bowl but their fans only buy Y from the school

Then why did Auburn claim they "lost money" going to the national championship game? Creative accounting?

Did you even read the link you posted? The only place Auburn "lost" money was we spent more than the conference allotment for travel.
