Haven't attended a game there since Nebraska 2010. Got to see part of the renovations last summer when I went for my brother's graduation, but even the changes from last season to this one are incredible.

Absolutely cannot wait to return this fall

Kyle Field is massive. That's a damned SEC venue.

This is next thing A&M needs to see if they can fix. The tailgating is just so spread out all over the place.

Did that one TA poster's grassroots campaign to overhaul Spence Park ever gain any traction?

Not that I'm aware of.

I'm sure the school is aware of the potential in Spence Park, but doesn't want to open that can of worms just yet.

There's other bigger projects that need attention, like the outdoor track facility.

You say that like it's a bad thing...

That is a bad thing. I go to multiple tailgates all over UGAs campus and it's fricking exhausting and that actually is pretty compact. A little bit of me died when I saw the tailgating setup at Carolina.

There are some solid tailgating spots that are a good 1.0-1.4mis away. However you'll get 75% of the tailgating with a .67 mi radius half circle. It could be so much better if we somehow shrunk it into Spence Park, Simpson Drill Field, Cain Park, Lot 60, and Lot 61. That way the farthest tailgating would be 1/3 mi away yet be more than enough landscape to contain it all.

There's no such thing as too much of a good thing...when it comes to LSU tailgating.

If the campus were to grow bigger, so would the tailgating.

Makes sense to shelve Spence Park until after the more pressing upgrades are tended to, I suppose.

From the OM board... aerial shot of the new arena as of today, I believe.

That's one of the press boxes. I believe it is just for print media. The west side will have areas for TV & radio. I don't know this for a fact, but I believe its on one of the ends or both. Right next to the stairs.

I saw a schematic cross section for the east side that showed the visitor's radio booth being on the east side--don't know if the home radio booth will be up there, or on the other side with the TV and coaches' booths.

Having never been to Williams Brice stadium, this picture is very intriguing. The lower section on the right hand side only appears to have 3 portals. WTH? The entire side of that stadium uses 3 portals? That's gotta be a freakin nightmare.

Williams Brice was a logistics nightmare. Probably the only stadium with a worse layout is Vandy's.

reminds me of how G Rollie White was right next to Kyle.

Reed may be nicer* but damn I miss the basketball area being in the middle of campus.

(* = if you like the corporate hospital look)

Its a better set up with parking and a much better facility. That said its middle of the pack at best and ugly. We recently (last 5-6 years) invested a ton of money into adding on for practice courts, lockers, barber shop, etc so its not going anywhere. I really wish they would redo some of the interior. We need suites

It's sort of a nightmare but not really.. Only the lower bowl exits through those three portals. Also, half of our student section wraps around from that first portal near the corner all the way in front of the videoboard. They use that first portal.. Then there's a portal in the middle mainly used by Carolina fans.. Visiting fans use that 3rd portal or one of the portals in the end zones because they sit in that corner you can't see.

It works out somehow, but getting out can be a hassle for big games.

We make up for it when it comes to leaving the stadium. Of all the SEC stadiums I've visited, leaving Williams Brice was one of the easiest. Logistically makes sense.
