Get rid of an OOC patsy game and add another cross-div game. That way former permanents would still play each other often. Would more SEC fans would prefer this or status quo?

so then the bitching goes to having more home games than the other team.

we need either more teams or a different divisional setup. Permanents arent going away

perm cross-division are stupid. I'd welcome this change.

It also wouldn't surprise me if we're the only p5 conference not playing 9 games before long and we're "forced" to go to 9.

Can you imagine if the amount of s**t we'd get from the sec haters if we were the only conference not playing 9 games?

If we go to 16 teams we'd have to go to a 9 game schedule to keep balance

Yeah, give up the DSOR and TSIO. On the other hand, at least Forfeit wouldn't get to take the first month of the season off.

They might actually have to travel outside of Florida more than 3 times a year.

I think 9 sec games is inevitable.
It will happen.
When the Big 12 implodes look for the SEC to go to 16 teams and you will have to shake up divisions and go to 9 game schedule.
Also, push back SEC title game one week and use that extra week as either an extra bye or for makeup of postponed Fla games.

Go to 16. move Bama to east to preserve Tenn game
Move Auburn to east to preserve UGA game and add Fla
Move mizzou back to west where they belong
Do away with permanents

LSU and Alabama played a game as out of conference. Why can't TSIO and DSOR be out of confernce

So have the game after the normal NCAA bowl selection

I think it will happen in the next three years, even if there is no expansion. It sucks for the little schools like Alabama a&m's and Jax State's out there. At the end of the day it means more money. It is almost inevitable. Bama, UT, UGA, and Auburn will not let their cross divisional go. Nor should they because these four schools > LSU and UF in SEC clout. I don't think the other schools really care.

Go to 9, encourage teams to have one conference game at a neutral site.

You could even keep Bama/Tennesse and Georgia/Auburn and just have everyone else rotate through like the Pac12 does.

Wish they would do something fun for opening week of the SEC season like having a team play the same ranked team from opposite division in the previous year, like an east-west showdown but I know that will never happen.

Or just keep cross division permanent rival. Rotate the other two. Every other year each division rotates between playing 5 and 4 home conference games.
That way you have a home and home with everyone every 6 years instead of 12

So LSU would not play Bama every year? Is that what you are proposing? Talk about..............scared!
