This is less a sports question and more a rant question but what was it like on here when HDN left arkansas for ole miss? Did the black bears think it was some kind of coup? Were they woopin it up? I don't even remember why he left. Some insight into that would be cool to. Definitely seems like a lateral or even a downgrade move going there, to me.

I wrote that Nutt was the second best coach behind Saban and it got me thinking is all.

I remember when it happened. A couple of Ole Miss fans that I worked with thought he was going to be the second coming of Johnny Vaught. They were acting like 7th grade girls at a Justin Bieber concert.

Didn't Saban recommend Nutt to replace him at LSU? I think he did some very good things at Ark and at OM his first two years. His main problem was that he sat on his butt for his first two recruiting classes. Two 9-4 seasons was pretty damn good after O.

I never heard an Ole Miss fan compare him to Johnny Vaught but I did hear the comparison to Brewer and Tuberville

Yeah, that's not half bad. He must have flamed out after that.

Then you chooses to selectively not remember. It's exactly what was goin on. And don't try the ole " it was just a few,"cuz it was the majority.

And you know it.

They liked him at first just like we did, although we did try to warn them.

The difference is that they saw through his BS much more quickly than we did and got him out of Oxford.

Kudos to them.

Nutt was just coming off of beating #1 LSU with DMAC and we were coming off Eddie O blowing a 14 point 4th quarter lead to State and finishing up 0-8 in the SEC. We were ecstatic.

Nutt's 2 years prior to Ole Miss included a 10-3 season and SEC champ game berth and an 8-4 season where he had just beaten LSU.

And we balled his first year at Ole Miss after he lost a couple of early season games. We were fooled obviously, but I don't think you came blame us for being blinded.
