Exactly. After Muschamp goes 0-8 in the SEC next season, he'll still be the head coach for the next few years.
ETA: Three straight.

how Muschamp will be in the hot seat after 1/2 a year and Lyle is still there after 3?
Butch had a history of success, and most of the fan-base understood just how bad our roster was.
Muschamp is widely known to be terrible at coaching football, and because of that I just don't think the fan base will show much patience after a 2-10, 3-9 type of season. Maybe I'm wrong? Sounds like I am.

Tier 1 (needs a good season or will likely be gone)
Sumlin- I agree with the buyout being restrictive, but the perception of control and locker room issues compound the problem. aTm will pull the trigger if he doesn't meet whatever the subjective collective expectations of the boosters are for this season.
Malzahn - second hottest seat in the SEC. Needs a competitive showing and at least a split with UGA-Bama.
Tier 2 (probably safe, but could be in some trouble if the wheels fall off)
Mullen
Miles
Tier 2.5 (safer than tier 2, but wouldn't say completely in the clear)
Jones - I think anything short of a 10+ win season gets his seat super hot given the recruiting success and expectations.
Bielema - it would take a disaster of a season, but it's out there.
Mason- expectations are very different at Vandy. 4 wins may be good enough to qualify as a good season. Plus, some at Vandy may not know that Franklin isn't still their HC.
Tier 3 (in the clear)
Stoops- I think he is in the clear for at least another year due to a $12 million buyout.
Freeze - short of a complete disaster and pics of him f'ing a co-ed while handing our spice to players and cash to recruits.
McElwain
Tier 4 (first year coaches)
Smart
Muschamp
Odom
Tier 5-
Saban - Similar to Bear Bryant after going undefeated in '66 before going 8-2-1, 8-3, 6-5, & 6-5 and 0-7-1 in bowl games for 8 years following that undefeated season, CNS' success has bought him time. There would be rumblings, but I'd be shocked if someone pulled the trigger unless that decline continued beyond 4-5 years.

1. Stoops
2. Sumlin
3. Miles
4. Malzahn
5. Jones
6. Bielema
7. Mason
8. Mullen
9. McElwain
10. Freeze
11. Saban
The 1st year coaches don't count.
While Jones and Bielema are not in the Top 4 in terms of being on the hot seat, I think they both could quickly catapult to #1 with a bad 2016 season.
Jones' "We're so young" and "Wait until next year" excuses are going to wear thin quick. Everyone knows he now has the talent to win 10 games. If he wins 8 games once again, its obvious he's never going to take the UT program to where the fans expect it to be.
Bielema has somehow convinced Hog fans to lower their expectations. They seem generally excited about their coaches results, despite the fact he's just 18-20 in three seasons in Fayetteville. I'm not sure that record would fly at many other SEC schools.
If he wins less than 8 games this year, I expect him to be gone. Even a 7-6 season would put him at 25-26 after four seasons. How can Hog fans be okay with this?

It is absolutely relevant to this thread. He will be on the hot seat by mid-season.
You're either trolling or a complete tard.
No USC fan would put him on the hot seat after year 2 because of the mess Spurrier left. We have been patient with Frank Martin because of the damage Horn caused. It'll be similar with Muschamp as long as he recruits at a high level which he will.

aaaaannnnnddd he's back. TT been a while since you were trolling us. Glad you're back in the saddle. How long before the SJW's shut your athletics programs down completely?

I think Mullen should be tier 3.
Agree, he would need to have some sort of crazy collapse on and off the field to be fired after this season
I agree. 2.5 at worst.

Butch had a history of success in the MAC and Big East. If you are honestly going by that then that's weak. Muschamp had an overall winning record in the SEC and even when he was losing he was beating UTk

I think you should go find the other 20 or so of these surveys and do a composite of them. Would be interesting (sarcasm added).

Your absolute ceiling is probably 2-6, and I think that's a major stretch. 1-7 seems only slightly more likely than 0-8.

I need to vent my frustrations with this insanely cold weather we are having up here.

With the coaching salaries + top facilities, he has everything at his disposal to put a winning product on the field. He has challeged for championships for damn near a decade at Alabama - there's no reason that he shouldn't continue.

Ceiling? 2-6 is the least we'll do next year. Mizzou at home is a W as well as @ Vandy. I'll take my chances of stealing one of Kentucky, Miss St, or A&M as well. We'll always play Georgia tough at home as well.

I mean LSU was contemplating a similar buyout with a far more effective and tenured coach
Les's buyout is paid out over years. We have to pay Sumlin it all within a few months.

Yep, and TN will be winning the CFB playoffs, and subsequently beating the Carolina Panthers in a late February exhibition game.

Yeah lets also not forget that a coach with next to no HC experience held Lyle to within 3 at Neyland last year. Side note, not a single fan I came across while there were in any way as ridiculous as this clown.
