Tier 1 (needs a good season or will likely be gone)

Stoops
Mason
Sumlin
Miles

Tier 2 (probably safe, but could be in some trouble if the wheels fall off)

Mullen
Malzahn

Tier 2.5 (safer than tier 2, but wouldn't say completely in the clear)

Jones

Tier 3 (in the clear)

Freeze
Saban
McElwain
Bielema

Tier 4 (first year coaches)

Smart
Muschamp
Odom

Did you place the coaches inside the tiers in any order or is that just random.

I think Mullen should be tier 3.

For tier 1, I guess you are defining good relative to the program. Because a minimum good UK/Vandy season is not equal to a minimum good A&M/LSU season

He would catch heat for a bad season.

Muschamp won't last past year 2. He's never been successful, ever. And because of that, the fans are going to have a lot less patience.

They'll be terrible (like 13th or 14th in the league) this year, and the pitchforks will be out in full force.

I wouldn't say Bert is completely clear. If the wheels come off hard he may be in hot water.

If Sumlin doesn't win 9 games this year he's as good as gone.

I would say Stoops belongs in 2.5 tier. The others I can see your point on, though.

Sumlin should be below Malzahn and Mullen regardless of what the Joe Sixpacks's say.

Sumlin will have a $15 million buyout and he has very powerful friends.

A&M is an extremely conservative University and they don't throw buyout money around.

For the first time in many years, A&M has an upperclassmen dominated squad. Sumlin will have an acceptable season on the field.

He needs to work on representing the University in a positive way.

By a few crazy fans and media trying to stir the pot, but the man will never be fired from Bama as long as he wants to stay. He could pull a Paterno and coach until he's 82 and the administration isn't going to fire him.

Sumlin has never won less than 8 games and has a big buyout. To me, he has more to worry about the program looking like a shitshow again and less to worry about in the W-L category.

Stoops will be in trouble only if things start going backwards at UK. He can secure a safe additional 2 years if he goes 6-6 next year.

I thought A&M had all this money. I mean LSU was contemplating a similar buyout with a far more effective and tenured coach

Agree, he would need to have some sort of crazy collapse on and off the field to be fired after this season
