No. you need a stallings, Bryant, saban guy.

It's also been proven that hiring a supposed clone of the previous version of both those guys is a flaming disaster.

this ... we'll need a complete opposite almost, in terms of personality at least ... i'd be open to fuentes, depending on how he does at tech ...

i agree. Clemson is HIS. He may feel like taking over what Saban built would cheapen his own legacy.

We all know he is a great coach tho. Guess we wont know for a while.

I hope it's Pruitt. I really believe he's going to be a fantastic head coach.

Well, he did beat CNS/L6U 31-0 at Tigah Stadium in 2002.

I suspect that Saban will have a tremendous amount to do/say about the next HC. With that in mind, no Alabama fan should worry too much about it...nor should our opponents.

You know Saban endorsed Houston Nutt for LSU when he bolted for Miami right?

The Clemson folks seem to think Dabo does not want to be the guy to replace Saban, I mean think of the pressure taking over from arguably the best HC in college football history. I personally think Mike Price has paid his dues and deserves another opportunity, the REC might go in that direction.

Makes sense. Since the GOAT coach hates L6U.

Im no insider but would think Saban has a couple of years till this decision has to be made. If CDS is still winning he gets a look. Perhaps one of Sabans old coordinators gets looked at but would be surprised if its Pruitt unless he had left for an HC job and had luck/succss. Just dont see Bama giving he keys to anyone w/ out HC experience

Well, Coach O is gonna do so great that we will be forced to go after him.

"YawYawYawYawYawYaw YawYaw Roll Tide"

In all seriousness, if one of the Saban disciples is doing well, then Bama will go after him. Maybe Kirby (maybe being the keyword), maybe Jimbo.

I would think if CKS is doing well he stays home, if not you wouldnt want him. jimbo would be interesting. Pruitt is an unknown. Not sure McElwain will cut it.

Honestly, not sure anybody knows at this point. If it's 5 years, who knows who will be the big name? 5 years ago, who knew Tom Herman?

The main criteria I'd have is that the person has to have a system and a plan that he is supremely confident in.

The easy name will be Jimbo. An on deck guy determined based on future performance could be Justin Fuente.

why not just hire your D line coach?

Bama's d line has been unreal lately.

Totally different scenario. Saban won't be "bolting" anywhere when he retires, plus I'm pretty sure he's matured a great deal in the past 12 or 13 years. Bottom line, I'd be about as confident with his choice as anyone out there...you don't think he knows a good coach when he sees one?

"Big rocks" are needed for that job regardless of when one gets there.
