Ok. Whatever you want to believe. Bam bet that Dabo doesn't go to Bama after Saban leaves?

Jimbo

I honestly don't know what his mindset would be about it. I think he is probably the best known quantity that would be reasonably available (Meyer and Harbaugh, obviously, are out). I'm not the biggest Jimbo fan, but he recruits great players and has consistently very good teams year in and year out. He is as consistently good as anyone in CFB.

However, there are going to be some people who don't want to touch this job with a 10 foot pole, and I don't blame them at all. I'm not sure why Jimbo would leave a job like FSU where he is relatively comfortable and cozy, a place where he can win a National Title with 1 loss every year, for the totally impossible task of replacing Saban at Alabama. I mean, some dudes love that type of challenge, but they are far and few between. I wouldn't blame people for staying away. It's going to be a damn meat grinder.

A ban bet on something that might not happen for 5 or 6 years? Sure?

I have my doubts Dabo leaves, especially after his title. But the idea that he has no interest in coming to Alabama just is 100% not true. At all. When that day comes it will be a hard decision for him (if it does come). I wouldn't be surprised, especially after the title, if he decides to stay at Clemson, but he very much would be (and is) interested in Alabama. He always will be.

Ok. If that is what you believe that's fine with me.

Whether or not Dabo remains at Clemson after Saban retires depends on if he wins another title between now and then. It's much easier to get to the top then to stay at the top (see Chizik, Jimbo, and even Meyer).

Hypothetically speaking, if it's been six years since he has won a title at Clemson, he may be comfortable with leaving. Especially if Jimbo wins a title within that time frame.

Might be Hugh Freeze. He actually puts some good schemes on the field, and would excell if he had Bama talent to work with.
I bet his recruiting violations would vanish

It's a double edged sword. What makes Bama so challenging is the fanbase and living up to the Saban expectations. However, the ceiling at Clemson is lower than the ceiling at Bammer, and any coach wanting a second or third ring would want to use Bammer as much as Bammer wants to use them.

And you're right that a faction of the fanbase won't like Jimbo. I don't get that feeling with the energetic and religious Dabo though. I believe Dabo would be youthful enough to take the challenge as heir successor because Saban wouldn't leave the cupboard dry, the bountiful resources and money will still be there, and most importantly, the return might provide a sense of satisfaction to Dabo that he could finish where he started out.

I've totally changed my mind on Dabo. I used to think his schtick would never work here. However, I've come to thinking that the BEST thing we could have post Saban is somebody with their own specific and proven philosophy that is a total shift from Saban. Jimbo, for instance, would get everything he did compared to Saban because of their similarities. Dabo wouldn't. At all. They are so different in management styles, public personalities, etc.

Now, would his style work here? I don't know. But I think hiring somebody who is mini-Saban is a total disaster waiting to happen. And Dabo is whatever the opposite of that is.

It's also been proven that hiring a supposed clone of the previous version of both those guys is a flaming disaster.

Well go get Miles. I hear he's available.

Dabo does not want to coach at Bama. But it's okay. Bama always think people want to coach and play for them.

I'm not sure jumbo says yes either, why? Hes killing it down there they will be pre season number one in a somewhat easier conference

A coach who I think just fits out of left field is mike tomlin. I think he feels the heat and Ben is getting old. In 2-3 years I think Hes ready for something different

LOL that an LSU fan remembers what it's like to have a lead in a national championship game.

Dabo Swinney is a bigger Bammer than 3/4 of the Alabama posters on this message board. I truly think he hates Auburn more than I do. But yea, he has no interest in going back there at all. He doesn't want anything to do with it.

Dabo would be stupid to take that job when Saban leaves. And sources have already proclaimed he has no interest in that job.

Actually, he still has quite a bit of interest, but I personally don't think that will be the case in 5 years if he continues to be very successful. Alabama's window to get him will likely be closed by then.

It always helps if they've coached at L6U or lived there first............

So, Dabo a big ole Bama fan and we are logically arguing he wants to coach there because of his hate for Auburn?
