Let me preface this by saying I take no pleasure in what is happening at OM right now. I have quite a few friends in Oxford, and I've just gotten to the point in life where college football is more enjoyable when the LSU/OM rivalry truly means something.

That being said what could be the real hesitation to move on from Freeze (and possibly Bjork as well)? Clean house and throw yourselves at the mercy of the infractions committee showing your cooperation and initiative to right the ship.

I seem to recall Ms State being in a somewhat similar situation years back and they fired Jackie Sherrill (who was winning) and hired the first African American coach in SEC history. This turned out to be a brilliant PR move as the infractions committee took it relatively light on them as not wanting to set up Croom for failure.

Why at this point would you guys not look for a similar out to lessen the hard on that the NCAA obviously has for Freeze? I think all the signs point to this not ending well at all for the rebs otherwise.

I meant "winning" in comparison to what State had been doing in the 100 years before his tenure.

Also if you want to use that logic let's talk about Freeze not making it to ATL desipite to "roster" and then didn't even become bowl eligible this year. But like I said about Sherrill, in comparison to his predecessors (outside of the Eli years) at OM he was winning.

We have all seen, and perhaps done so ourselves, someone make a poor decision that blows up in their face and rather then cut their losses they double down on that decision. I think folks in the Ole Miss administration are hoping that the NCAA blinks first and doesn't hammer them into the ground.

they seem to (publicly, anyway) still not actually admit that they've done most of the wrongdoing.

Either they're digging their heels in for a battle or they are just woefully naive and ignorant, but they still seem to be taking the "well we didn't do that so you have to prove it" mindset.

No idea. I just don't see any way he can continue. We need to fire him asap and try to find a coach with a reputation of doing things the right way. I would live to get a charlie strong type in Oxford.

I doubt Freeze ever coaches another game in Oxford. He will fired for cause to avoid any buyout. Matt Luke will be named interm.
Freeze needs to go for more than the NCAA stuff. I have never seen a coach lose his team like he did last year and ever get it back....

The calendar says otherwise. If "cause" is what you are waiting on to fire Freeze and avoid the buyout, said "cause" probably won't be known until some time into 2018.

I was thinking we would be before the COI this summer but you are correct, the timing may allow him to coach in 2017.

I would think the fact that we are admitting to several level 1 violations would count as cause. We should get rid of him asap.

That would totally contradict what was said in the press(less) video, but OK.

agree...he needs to be gone yesterday.....we have not not done anything that any other program in the SEC isn't doing on a much higher scale but the sloppy manner in which the coaches allowed it to happen should be cause enough.

What a crock of shite. Ole Miss has players getting drafted in the 1st round that are admitting to Level 1 violations AFTER their eligibility has expired. They aren't even required to cooperate with the NCAA. Other SEC schools have pissed off players transferring out for numerous reason - mostly playing time issues. Those players have absolutely no loyalty to the schools they are transferring from and probably hold grudges,....yet none of them are admitting to improper benefits.

How do you feel about Leo Lewis's mom being recorded saying you offered her son 60K?
If you think LSU is clean, you are more delusional than the typical Arkansas fan....

I admit I watched maybe 10 minutes of the 21 minute video. So, I do know that much.

Do you feel that Leo Lewis is worth 20K more than LSU thought he was?
Where do you get the 80K number for your recruits? It seems both Leo and Simmons got the same amount....is that standard for 5* kids?

No clue. I don't follow recruiting. We get who we get and don't get who we don't get. Nothing I do or say will change that.
