High School football is underway in Texas. I discovered the longest HS win streaks belong in the south. Edgewood Academy in Elmore, AL has the longest streak at 57, Christ Church in Greenville, SC is second at 54, a school in New York is third and Allen HS in Allen TX and Buford HS in Buford, GA are tied for fourth with 43.
I know a lot about Allen but could others comment on the other schools?

Had 47 in a row a little over a decade ago.

Buford is the best high school football team I have ever seen in person.
They beat South Georgia powerhouse Lowndes County (who has won some state titles) by 30 points.
Also, I can say with certainty that South Florida schools like St Thomas Aquinas, Booker T Washington, American Heritage, etc. would beat Edgewood Academy, Christ Church, and pretty much any other high school team in the country. The south Florida high school football players are a different breed.

I disagree.

Yes, HS football records are a mess. I just found a school in Nevada that claims 81 game win streak. Also Booker T Washington in Miami has a long streak as well.
Max Preps is saying Buford has a 41 game win streak.
Is there anyone who keeps these records?
What are the crowd numbers at these schools?

Edgewood Academy would lose if they played an AHSAA school of any caliber. They play in the AISA, which is possibly the poorest level of organized scholastic sports in America.
The top private schools in the state play in the AHSAA with a 1.3 enrollment index. A handful (I think about 50) schools are still playing in their own league, and it is pitiful.

I'd put that last years Acadiana team up against anyone.

On a side note, I was at the game when the South Panola (Miss.) 89-game win streak ended. It took a game of their life from every Meridian player and South Panola botched an extra point to send it to overtime, where the worst coaching decision in MHSAA State Championship Game history occurred.
South Panola had a offensive line with four future D-I players and a running back that was slicing Meridian's defense to shreds. 1st and goal - 9 yard run to the 1.
2nd and Goal - Pass that resulted in a sack back to the 13. Meridian was able to stop them on 3rd and 4th down, but they had missed the OT extra point, so that streak would have reached 100 if not for that coaching blunder.

I'm a 6-6A fan myself, so there won't be much I can add that is new to you. We were wanting to go to the Landry Classic tonight (I live in Allen, but zoned in Plano ISD) but we're not season ticket holders. This the first game since the stadium reopened so it's going to be a mad house. Not a chance in hell I was risking having to be in standing room only areas under GA tickets.
We will be headed to the Tyler Plano Sr High game. Tyler lost their clutch qb and rb, but I'm still thinking they win tonight.
Either way, it's great to be back in Clark Field and I can't wait.

I don't have a dog in the fight but you are correct that Allen will be a madhouse tonight. I went to the stadium opener two years ago when Allen played Southlake Carroll (Kenny Trill vs. Kyler Murray). Unbelievable crowd size. Many colleges would live to have that many people.
Still trying to make up my mind on where I will go tonight.
Euless Trinity plays De La Salle from California tomorrow but it will be on ESPN 2.

Allen plays a school from South FL this year, not sure how good they are. I think Miami Central beat Skyline pretty bad a few years ago and Southlake lost to Booker T Washington way back when they were 1 and 2.
I don't think Allen played any OOS teams the last few years but they could have gone up against anyone in the country during that time. Just loaded

Lowndes had a down year
Buford would be the most years. Maybe not by 30 but they would still beat them most years. Year in and year out, Buford is the best team in Ga.

Tomorrow Euless Trinity will be playing De La Salle out of California. At one time DLS had a 151 game winning streak.

Any of em. Nothing better that Friday nights in Texas.
What area are you in?
Oh, another fun one will be southlake. They are headed down to Austin against Westlake for those in that area.

I'm a Hoover High grad and they have won 3 straight state titles. Last year they got stomped by Miami Central. It's very interesting how those S Florida schools all have such top talent.
