Hugos was once a hole in the wall. Hermans was too, for that matter.

If a place is truly good, it doesn't stay hidden for long.

Springdale wants to talk to you on this. Theres that Taqueria by the Walmart in Springdale that is fantastic. I cant remember the name of it though. It is a health department flunkie but the food is great.

I think you mean Charley's Taqueria. Pretty good place.

Fargo's Pit BBQ in Bryan for Texas BBQ. It's basically a shack on the side of the road in kind of a sketchy area and a cash only kind of place but is good. They cater tailgates as well. The taco trucks that set up around the bars look sketchy but are also fantastic for drunk food.

Relish Burger in Gainesville was incredibly good when I went. Guthries in Auburn is a must hit after a W, almost identical to Cane's

We always walked over. Usually willies time meant unsafe to drive time.

Willies--we don't care how you got the munches we are just here to fix 'em. Most honest ad campaign ever.

In this cellphone age this was one of the only phone numbers I committed to memory and can still regurgitate from college.

Apparently Starkville has a place called Jean's cafe that is a little old chinese woman that makes the food for you as your order it. Apparently it is delicious, from scratch chinese that doesn't taste like your normal chinese place in the states, and you have to wait a good minute for it to arrive at your table. The only catch is that "Mamma Jean" comes out and talks your ear off while you eat it.

Thanks I had no Idea. Doesn't mean it isn't a great place to eat when traveling to Auburn.

is Deep Ellum safe again? It was going to shite in the mid '00s.

When I was in DE in 2005 I thought, "Man, they've really cleaned this place up since the 80's!"

...but then I'm from New Orleans.

"Safe"?
