Legit question It would seem to be sacrilegious or something like that. But I can't imagine tailgating without someone doing a butt, ribs, etc.

I have often wondered this as well over the years. I always do a boston butt for this game. What do Arky fans cook?

I mean, inquiring minds need to know these type of things.

Yes. Domestic pig =/= Russian boar

When was the last time you've been btw? We've updated the shite out of the surrounding area. Still pretty bad by SEC standards, but it's a helluva lot better.

People my parents and grand-parents age wouldn't/don't on game day when I was growing up.

I always imagined that they treated it like communion.

I'm smoking 10 racks of baby-backs and 2 full pork loins, Expecting around 30-40 at the tailgate.

I feel like this is a good thread to tell this story. 1993 SEC basketball tournament in Lexington. We were staying in the same hotel as a group from Arkansas. I was almost 12 years old. My dad had arranged for us to ride some shuttle to and from Rupp arena and it was all hogs fans. And when I say a group from Arkansas it was two charter busses full. They had activities at the hotel all week. Saturday night was a hog calling contest. Naturally the Arky fans got into it. Some were really good. But the best part is that the prize was an actual Razorback. They had this massive black hog in the lobby of the hotel in a cage. I'm not sure how the winner of the contest planned on getting this fine specimen of an animal back home, but boy was she proud she won him.
I knew we had something special in Arkansas in the SEC at that point. I thought the woooo pig sooie chants at the BJCC the year before were great but it was nothing compared to what I saw in Kentucky that night.

This is exactly how we eat pork on game day.
"This do in remembrance of Sooie."
