I have heard him on the radio a few times here in Birmingham and the guy just does not seem to be very high on Miles and LSU.This morning he actually picked Auburn to win . Do LSU fans like this guy?

Graduated with his oldest son Austin(who plays for LSU now). He also coached our 7th/8th grade team one year.
You either like the family or you don't. Used to show his SuperBowl ring off, but then again the long snapper has a lot to do for the Pats./sarcasim
Personally don't like him, but his wife was hot. Todd was a lot better, imo.

Brian Kinchen controversy
On October 31, 2006, ESPNU college football commentator Brian Kinchen was suspended from calling games for one week, because of a comment he made during an October 28 game broadcast of the Northern Illinois-Iowa game. Kinchen was explaining the need for receivers to make catches with their hands, because they are "tender" and can "caress" the ball. He then paused and said, "that's kind of gay, but hey."
"The comments were inappropriate, and we apologize for them," said ESPN's vice president of public relations Josh Krulewitz. "They were completely inappropriate and not at all a reflection of who I am or the way I perform my work," Kinchen said in a statement issued by ESPN. "I have learned from my mistake and look forward to continuing my broadcasting career."
His future with the network is currently under review.[3]

Former (pre-Miles era) LSU players I've heard don't seem to have much respect for Miles. I've heard Tommy Hodson do the same thing. Not that general public opinion is all that different.

He was a dick in High school when my buddy boinked his girlfriend like three dozen times.
I played ball with his brother Todd (SEC offensive player of the Year).
He has had an anti-Les boner since day one.
He was on Baton Rouge radio in 2005 talking about how Les's wife was ugly.
He got thrown off his ESPN gig for saying somebody was "acting gay".
He burned all his bridges at a local private school here for being such a pompous, entitled arse.
Wherever he goes he burns bridges and reveals his simple lack of intelligence.
His son Austin is on the team and Brian runs around blasting Les to anybody who will listen.
I think he's kryptonite.

Grew up with Brian and his family, and he is a Great person, family man, and LSU supporter. The one thing about Brian you will quickly realize once you meet him is he will ALWAYS speak his mind, whether is opinion is asked for or not. He's just speaking speaking from his gut when making those predictions or comments.
BTW: Great book written by the author of "Season Of Life" about the Kinchen family, Brian, and his NFL career leading up to his Super Bowl Appearance, entitled "The Long Snapper". Very easy read put together by Jeff Marx.

Wow. Seems ya'll either love the guy or Hate him.
Is he allowed access to LSU like most former players get?And is his son any good?

Austin an Hunter both are on the team. I think Hunter is listed as a WR, and Austin a long snapper. Both about 6', doubt either ever get meaningful will get playing time.
49 Austin Kinchen LS 6'1" 210 So
46 Hunter Kinchen WR 6'0" 187 Fr

I say pour it on us. As a Bama fan, can you remember a game that "The Bear" said anything bad about the other team? "The Bear" would always down play his teams chances of winning.

His dad Gus is a nice guy and Todd is pretty cool.
His son is a practice team, walk-on kid.
Austin has that weird running style that his Uncle Todd had, it's weird to see.

Yea but this just don't sound like normal down play talk. Seems the guy really has issues with the way miles is doing things and was not affaid to let it be known.
But on a high note, Jay barker took up for Les.

i hate to be this way but as soon as our guys leave LSU, i quit caring. I'd like for them to do well, but not enough to watch them play in the NFL or listen to them on the radio

Both are walk ons - Kinchen may be deep snapper afer Crappell and Russian leave if they earn it.
Miles has a lot of detractors including former players, but realistically what coach has satisfied everyone other than Nick.
Miles gets criticized, some well deserved, but I'm not sure Spurrier would have a better record than Miles at LSU at this point.

I just had a funny thought. Why is he talking bad about LSU on a Bama station? I don't hear him on Matt Miscona(don't know how to spell it).

I think he is friends with Al Del Greco who is a co host with Jay Barker on a morning show.
