Old man body, old man brain. He could die on the field.

I don't doubt that Herschel could come in for maybe 5ish carries a game on 3rd down and try to get a few yards. But there is absolutely no way he could be a regular rotation back getting 15+ carries. He's just too old.

However, a phsyical athletic freak of nature like him, especially at his size (and it's not like he's out of shape by any means)...there's no reason to think he couldn't pick up a couple yards here and there.

I feel 10000% confident in saying that Herschel's body, at 53, is in better shape than yours would ever or could ever even hope to be.

Herschel did more pushups and situps before lunch today than you've probably done in 2015...and that's not an exaggeration.

I have no doubt he could be effective, but I don't think he could hold up. You can be old and still be fast/strong etc, the one thing that goes no matter what is the speed in which you heal.

It's just not a good idea. Saying he could do it sure, actually doing it. Please don't Hersh

If JJ Watt can juice and get away with so can Herschel. Go for it.

really? You think

quote:

is preposterous? Why? Let's break it down:

quote:

maybe 5ish carries a game

-so, anywhere from 3-7 carries. THREE...you think 3 whole carries is too much? Good Lord

quote:

on 3rd down

-so he would only have 1 run play at a time, regardless of whether he converted or not. Oh no, hope he doesn't tire out after 1 carry!

quote:

try to get a few yards.

yeah, getting 2 yards a pop sure it outlandish isn't it?

As the consensus greatest athlete of all time, Bo Jackson has nothing to prove.

But I know for a fact Bo supports Herschel's efforts to get his name out there with the MMA and such.

Could he? Well yes, Walker could be a solid short yardage back. The problem is that NFL teams now default to 3rd and 3 being a passing down more often then not.

The ONLY way he could do it is if he never practiced.

If he practiced, he would get injured and never see any game time.

Probably would have a career ending injury very quickly... Even though he's in great shape, it's still an old body and wouldn't take long to blow out a knee...

well of course not, he's old. He wouldn't be a starter, he would get like 5 carries a game MAX. That's not a stretch.

But...he said this a few years ago too. He's not going too, it's just radio show fodder.

I think your georgia fandom has influenced your mind.

Hershal sucked at the end of his career. Why would he improve at 53?

I don't recall one single got damn time saying that he would excel, did I?

I said he get get 5 carries a game and pick up a few yards. And I see absolutely no reason why that isn't reasonable. I didn't say he'd be MVP and score 20 TDs.

If anyone else claimed this, I'd laugh in their face. But Herschel is fricking Superhuman.
