When asked if the Head Hawg was gone, the Hawg reporter said that Long would go first, primarily for putting the extension & the $15M buyout on the table with no real pressure to even extend the contract.

Meh, while everyone is hurling dung at Long... he is making Arkansas money hand over fist. Fans link him with Bert, who has been a big disappointment, but otherwise he's been incredibly successful here.
He will take a solid hit for the Bert fiasco and well deserved. But when you get right down to it he's very good at one he does. We are 32nd in terms of population but we are pulling in 80 million plus profit a year for our athletic department.
For Arkansas that is a shitload of money.

PF just said on his show someone told him Long is in negotiations for a contract extension at UAf.

I disagree with this bigly.
John Pelphry, Jimmy Dykes, John L. Smith, and now Bret Bielema.
All terrible fricking hires.
And he is going to take an enormous blow over Bielema. We are now forced to pay this buyout and it's gonna make things tight for a few years. Stadium expansion. Long screwed the pooch considerably giving Bielema an extension after the Texas game.
ETA: Let's not forget that John L. Smith was a personal friend of Long's who was going through hard financial times.

Timing could be true, his contract is up in June i think.
