Basically, Andre McGee (who was an assistant at the time and former UofL player) paid some shitty hookers 5k to sleep with roughly 17 players being recruited to the program.
Pitino is being hit with a Level 1 violation himself for not controlling/keeping tabs on McGee (they avoided the "lack of institutional control" charge). UofL is adamant that Pitino knew nothing and they're appealing his portion of the NOA.
Since McGee stepped down from UMKC, he's basically willingly become the fall guy. He's not talking to the NCAA.
