Have other SEC schools caused rivals to change head coaches?

Auburn and Alabama both have influenced each other to change coaches at various points in their histories. Has this happened elsewhere in the SEC, with conference or non-conference rivals?

Ed O beating Arkansas caused LSU to keep him on. I'd say that's better than having him fired.

Mark Richt is not the head coach at UGA right now solely because of the University of Florida

Not solely. But the game that he started Bauta against UF was the straw that broke the camels back

Not really. Lack of national championship was the issue. His best three chances were 2002, 2007 and 2012. He beat UF in 2017 and 2012. Even if he beats UF in 2002, he probably still doesn't play for the national championship.

There's a former rival who has changed coaches twice since we joined the SEC.

The aggys were saying the other day that it was the win vs A&M that made LSU keep him. Which is it?

Didn't Sylvester Croom a couple of coaches while at Miss State?

Forget changing coaches, Alabama once had a head coach that caused Georgia Tech to quit the entire conference.

He got Ron Zook fired.

We caused Les Miles to stay 5 years longer than he should have.

Houston Nutt put up more points on state than they had total yards of offense. That was crooms last game.

Maybe?

But beating us nearly ever year with an FSU win thrown in every now and then kept Tommy Bowden at Clemson longer than he might have otherwise been.
