Hats off to TCU

I remember when their sports programs were all laughing stocks. Now they are the preeminent all sports program in the state of Texas. They are giving hope to the other Texas programs whose ceilings have been no more than potential relevance.

I think we got the perfect Texas team.
They jumped right in, took down Bama amd kept it steady until now.
Unfortunately, beating Bama was a bad thing, because it made keeping Sumlin a lock. And now theyve had him too long and it shows.
And if Sumlin goes, Chavis might look elsewhere. I imagine getting out of the huge talent pool in LSU and jumping headfirst into a QB losing dumpster fire isnt what he wants.

They have 2 national titles in all sports in their entire history (5 if you count rifle and the 1935 title both they and SMU claim even though Minnesota was both AP and UPI champion) and four total conference titles since joining the Big XII. Their equestrian team in 2008 won the western region, but not overall. (Georgia owns that title) If we claimed that as a national title, you would add 5 more national titles to A&M's count (2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011)
Their basketball program makes Melvin Watkins and Johnny Jones look competent.

Well, that's not true. I know they claim 2 in football and their rifle team won a couple recently. I think other sports have been national champions, too.

aTm and Missouri have been kicking arse so far. We stole quality depth from the Big 12. They found a good replacement in TCU, but WVU has been absolute dog shite.

Texas - 53 (4 since 2005)
UTEP - 21 (none since 1982)
Texas A&M - 18 (11 since 2005)
Houston - 17 (none since 1985)

Of the 18 how many are football "NCs" claimed by aggy recognized by no one else?
How many were won I. Women's sports?
The fact it took UTEP and Houston spotted you three decades and aggy could only over come of them should be enough for most aggy to want to dodge the topic.

Tcu has done a good job of thriving at football in two of the weakest conferences. They have an incredible coach.
