Has there been a more enjoyable fall from grace in recent memory?

I can't think of anything. I don't follow SEC football very closely, especially recently, but Freeze might have been the most overtly phony and slimy piece of shite in the conference. It was evident from the jump with their recruiting classes. That his downfall was of a Jimmy Swaggart-esque nature, coupled with the sheer, devastating financial loss, and the slowplay run-up of NCAA justice, makes it all the more enjoyable.

We have the best falls from grace in the SEC, don't we folks?

Is it really a fall from grace if everyone already knew he was a cheating scumbag anyway?

Petrino was awesome, but he wasn't a holy roller like Hugh...and he definitely didn't challenge people to report his transgressions or shut up.

The day that the wedding registry got linked here.

Petrino was a sudden happening out of nowhere. Freeze has been in the spotlight for shady behavior for nearly a year and a half. Way more enjoyable.

Bobby wasn't a 'fall from grace'- he didn't feign innocence and purity. No one thought he was above doing something shady, just weren't expecting him to be an idiot and hire her on top of banging her.
Gosh damn, I'm reduced to semi defending BP against Hugh.

Petrino never claimed or pretended to not be an a-hole.
Freeze.. well..
Incidentally, Bobby Petrino is really nice to kids. When I was getting his autograph for my nephew at our spring game, he made the suggestion that we get a picture of him with my nephew. It was great and a really nice thing to do :) He has his faults, but he genuinely likes children.

Hugh is far, far, far more enjoyable. Bobby P was just shocking because he got caught. Hugh is like watching Swaggert, the PTL, Jim and Tammy and all of the televangelist scandals over again. It's effing delicious to see a hypocrite exposed.

I just love it for the GReAT ole miss posters here.
Couldn't of happened to a better fan base.

God the poor baw who was gonna marry Petrino's sidepiece that day was great.
But as fun as that was, Hugh has been more enjoyable simply for the way he has acted. No one was surprised that bobby could be a piece of shite.

Is the Mike Price-Destiny fiasco considered recent? God, what a rough time that was to be a Bama fan.

Bobby Petrino never professed to be honorable, loyal, or trustworthy in any way. So he didn't fall from "grace", he just proved without a shadow of a doubt that he was a slimy scumbag.

I don't think this board is that old but several years ago there was a wedding registry of an ex Auburn player and his wife that was posted to SEC sports boards. The ensuing hilarity was so AUsome that the website was taken down. That was a fun day.
