A & M has just had two years with one of the best QB's in NCAA history and in those two years the best they could do was third in the West in 2012 and no better than fourth this year. A Manziel type player comes along only once every few decades for any single team. Without Manziel is TAMU destined to be a Kentucky or , at best, an Ole Miss??

They're definitely taking a step back this year.

They're about to join LSU in decline. Ole Miss and Bert on the incline to take their place.

Yep. Better find a defense.

Their recruiting would indicate that is not the case.

Seeing as they have 1 year of recruiting in the SEC under their belt in which they were ranked 6th in the SEC behind Bama, LSU, Georgia, Florida AND OLE MISS I would say the recruiting after a single season doesn't give us much.

If they have to replace a Heisman at. QB there is no. Way they are better next year than this.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. This team is still building depth and with the way they are recruiting the team will be better going forward.

They have to figure out how to play defense before they do anything.

Have you played attention to this years? We are probably going to have the #3 class in the SEC

MSU will be significantly better next year. I think we battle for 2nd in the west.

I did pay attention, and as I look at it now you have the #4 class in the SEC with LSU likely to overtake you which would make you 5th in the conference. I'm not sure who you expect to commit that will give you the jump you expect. A&M has almost no big fish remaining for their class.

We took a step back after dropping most of our starting DL and LBs.. I said it before the season, and I've been mostly right. I was hoping we could outscore teams, and I am not far off.

8 and 4 aint' so bad with all these fish on D. Next year we will be vastly improved on D, but will likely not have JFF/Evans and Matthews at tackle.

I am not all that worried about the O though.

I think we can win 8 to 9 next year, but have the potential to be even better overall. Depends on how improved our DB's are and all the new recruits and how they fit in.

What defensive players that played this year will make you "better" next year? Also, how will you replace a Heisman QB, 1st round WR and LT (2-year All-American)?

I think it is absurd to say a school as large and wealthy as A&M is has already peaked moving forward. I think we may struggle next year, but our recruiting is at an all-time high and we are in a position to be competitive for a long time.

I love how people ignore greatly improving recruiting and think wins/losses are solely on JFF

I'm pretty sure this was the logic before the season. You aggy put WAYYYYY too much stock in true freshman recruits. Its not basketball, they have to play/develop, and believe or not, no matter how highly rated they are or what their video may/or may not look like in HS, RECRUITS DO NOT always pan out. You guys are about 3 years away from creating reasonable depth on defense, and thats if you recruit at the same level as last year.

Greatly improved? You had 1 year of recruiting worth a shite and you still got out recruited by Ole Miss.
