Mizzou has done their part. The rest of the SEC is dragging us down.

Yea and they're still the best program with the best coach in the nation

LSU has collapsed
We won the SEC and went to the national championship 3 fricking years ago. We've won 10+ games in 2/3 years since then and "only" won 8 games last year. And we're still consistently pulling top recruits. In what way have we "collapsed" exactly?

Florida plays ECU in post season
All SECr trolling of his buck teeth aside, I really like their head coaching hire and I fully expect them to bounce back and become a national power again sooner rather than later

auburn looked like fluke
Auburn will be very, very good this season. Muschamp was a home run hire and he's one of the best if not the best in the country IMO and their offense is always going to be great under Gus, he's an offensive genius.

You're the definition of a chicken little and that entire post was bullshite

Granted, all SEC teams do buy the best players. Why other conferences only buy the second-tier players, I'll never understand.

OSU is king now. Bama was whipped 2 years straight in bowls, LSU has collapsed, Florida plays ECU in post season, auburn looked like fluke. There have been unrealistic expectations and standards, but so many love to see SEC fail. I'd love to see the league reclaim dominance.

OSU is the king at this time, they won the last championship.
Now for the big 6
Bama was beat is a consolation game bowl and the playoffs, but remain a favorite.
LSU has not collapse.
Florida (you have a point)
Auburn has played in two championships and won one., not a fluke.
UT is rising, UGA continues to under perform.

The public has short memories and loves to build up our heroes (SEC) only to trash them later. In the last 10 years the SEC has 7 championships from 4'different teams. No conference can or will match that.

The SEC hasn't won a major post-season game in two seasons. And the SEC East champ got beat by a bottom feeder of another conference.

Florida is down.

TN is still down.

UGA is still UGA with no national title since most people on this website were born.

Ole Miss got destroyed by TCU

Miss. State and their dream season got beat by Georgia Tech.

Other examples such as Auburn losing to Wisky.

The SEC has to earn it on the field again and with not being handed a natty title via computers, they will need to win it on the field now against top teams from other conferences.

And for whatever reason, most SEC fans still fail to realize this....

Most of those natty titles in a row were won by two coaches - Urban and Saban. Urban is no longer in the SEC and Saban will be retired in a few years.

Les Miles is slowly destroying that LSU program and still runs an offense from the 20th century.

The problem with Auburn is they can never follow-up one of their great championship run seasons with another good if not championship season. Auburn was mediocre in 2009 and then gets Cam and wins it all in 2010. Then they proceed to be very average in 2011 and suck arse in 2012. They make the title game in 2013 then lose 5 the very next season. I think the rest of the nation does see them as a program that can't sustain success. Compare that to Bama who since 2008 has won at least 10 games every year. The worst season in the last 7 was a 10 win team in 2010. I don't know if that hurts the rest of the nations perception of the SEC, but it sure doesn't help.

Lost respect? Nah. I think all the other conferences are tired of the same loop on ESPN. Lebron, Tebow, SEC Football. You would probably have to go back 10+ years before you had a sportscenter without at least 1 of those 3 things.

SEC gets covered so much, and other conferences don't. Granted, part of that is by design with media deals, but it certainly gets rather old.

Are you saying if the Big 10 had won 7 straight national titles they would not have declared themselves the best conference in college football?

To say the SEC was so far up its own arse is stupid. The SEC won on the field and earned the right to say they were the best for a long time. Times could be changing, but the last decade has for the most part been dominated by the SEC. It wasn't like the SEC just woke up one day and said were're the best. They earned it with their play. How is that having your head up your arse?

SEC country is the only part of the country that matters.

Not too much, but a little.

Of course, the media giving credence to complaints of SEC bias while the SEC was winning the title EVERY SINGLE YEAR meant we were never getting the lip service we were entitled to anyway.

Complacency is a SOB!!!!!
Lately, SEC players thought they could just show up and have the same past success other great SEC teams had. Doesn't work that way, and the same hunger that took the SEC to the next level, should return after more embarrassing SEC defeats. I personally think, the SEC needed many slices of humble pie. Especially the SEC West! 17-23 year olds are going to get huge ego's when everyone is telling them how good/unbeatable they are all the time. I'm surprised it took this long for the SEC West to get embarrassed on the national stage, to tell ya the truth. Better late than never, I suppose....

SEC problems lately
* Not sure if I've ever seen such arrogance from a conference like the SEC has shown lately.
(Pride before the fall, and all that good stuff)
* Sure, some of that cockiness was earned, but no one just shows up and beats a solid team.
* Plus, it's what a team/program does when not on-the-field-of-play that separates others from the pack. While SEC players thought they were good enough already. Some top programs across-the-nation were getting their "Eye-of-the-Tiger" on.
* Even the SEC scrubs thought they could/can beat the best from other conferences. What the heck are they on? I'd like some of it....lol
* Now that the SEC has lost that intimidation factor they had going into games. The SEC better be ready for battle in every OCC game while moving forth. That favorable factor heading into these OCC games has been chipped away thes past two seasons. It's sorta like the mental edge Florida has over Tennessee since 1992. Tennessee is already beat before they reach the field-of-play against Florida. Other conferences had this mental block when playing the SEC's best teams lately, but that's over now.
* The SEC wil have to earn this mental edge back.
* Other conferences won't just fold, like Superman on laundry day, from being intimidated. SEC is going to have to play these OCC games pissing nails again with that same killer attitude that followed past national championship SEC teams.
* This hasn't happened the last 2 seasons. It's been all smoke and mirrors while living off past SEC success.
* Time to get back to work SEC, talent is great but that will only get you so far.

It's a bitch being the hunted.
Isn't it......

After winning 7 straight national tiles
You're the hunted because you're clearly the best
Simple as this really.......

The entire country has hated us, looked down and criticized the conference for a long time.

The SEC was able to throw all that criticizm and anger back in their face for 7 straight years. Then Jimbo upset the streak in grand fashion, followed Urban.
