Ranking Georgia in the top 10 is a national pastime I will never understand
They had a good year once more than three decades ago. LET IT GO. I can only think of Notre Dame as being more over ranked every year.
Georgia Tech is more relevant.

Agreed. The past 30 years indicate we should assume Florida the East Champ. Since it's pretty much what we do. Even when we suck

in the BCS/CFP era, Georgia has accomplished way more than Notre Dame, BUT......
Notre Dame had that one year which Georgia craves, and that's playing for the National Championship.

Kirby has put together a team that seems to mirror some of the better Saban teams at Bama. A team that can run the ball very well. A team whose running sets up the play action. A team that can run play action and throw over the top for TDs as the runnng game takes its toll and other teams start cheating to stop the run. A team that has an excellent run defense and can force teams to pass more than they want to. A team whose offense gives a very good defense time to rest.
Even a knucklehead Bama fan ought to realize they are looking at something they saw in Tuscaloosa 5-6 years ago. UGA has a very good team. I really see no weakness in them.

Georgia would have beat the brakes off ND that year. Everyone knows the SECCG was the national title that year.
ND went home the same way we did, trophyless.

UGA was a play away from playing and likely winning the National Chanpionship in 12. Definitely top 5 team in the country that year, strong case for second best.
As to this year, both their resume and the eye test easily put them in the top ten after week four. Not sure what the issue is.
Will they drop one they shouldn't before the SECCG? Probably.

Iirc, UGA came within one play of beating Bama for the SEC title. If UGA had made that play, imo they would've beaten ND in the BCS NCG, and Richt would probably still be at UGA.

It would have been interesting to see the outcome if they had gotten a mulligan.

I'm glad this bothers you.

Uga has been top 10 many times in the past 30 years. Have you not learned that when reviewing final rankings over the years?

This team is a different team. Let's just see how far they get. It could be a special year for the Dawgs. I certainly would put them in the top ten now. Have you seen USC and Penn State play so far this season. Why should they be in the top 5?

At best, this is like his 2008 team, which cruised through the regular season without really being challenged outside of LSU in November.
That said, UGa has similar scheduling luck in their favor this season. As underwhelming as AU has been thus far, we may well be the toughest team they play all year. And I'd be inclined to think they would beat us pretty handily.
But it's a long season. A little too early to make the kind of value judgment the OP is suggesting, nor the opposite.

Georgia Tech is more relevant.
It's too early to get ready for Atlanta. Simmer down.

Get the frick outta here with this shite. even you don't believe it.
Only 1 fricking team can win the title every year. UGA will always be more relevant in College Football then GT.

Bama/UGA heating up early.
Could be another classic SECCG, if UGA keeps it up.
