I think he needs to stay there for a while longer. If he stays for another 4-5 years, I think he has a legitimate claim (assuming he doesn't collapse during that stretch).

I still say Jackie was better. His teams had that killer instinct that Mullen's lack.

Jackie. MSU was beyond terrible when he took over. Castrating a bull
In thirteen seasons in Starkville, Sherrill coached the Bulldogs to a record of 75–75–2. His 75 wins are the most in school history. He led the team to a share of the SEC West title in 1998.

How many top 25 teams has Mullen beaten? Honest question. Like 2 or 3 in seven years?

no nO NO!
See, after Arkansas lost to Tenner, we weren't motivated and gave a game to MSU. And I think it may have been cold, not sure though.

He got state their first #1 ranking, but his overall win/loss record is 9th compared to all time coaches. I would say he needs more seasons, higher win/loss, and at least an SEC West title.
And to clarify I mean an actual SEC West title, not an ole miss co-champion didn't actually play in the title game title.

What's the number? I honestly don't know.
Judging by your response, I'm believing my guess of 2 or3 is probably right
