Question: Has Bielema ever acknowledged that he is widely known by his nickname "Bert"?
The hogs can't seem to decide but look to be giving Barry Alvarez a nickname.

I was talking to my wife the other day, who is an Arkansas fan, and I called him Bert. She looked at me like who the hell is Bert. I seriously forgot his name was Bret.

I too am guilty of calling him Bert. In my mind, the fella's name is indeed Bert.

Just found this on google. I'm in a boring conference call at work and was wondering about the origins of "Bert".
To answer the OP a member of the Arkansas media asked him if he was aware that his detractors call him "Bert" after either the Toledo or Rutgers loss. I don't have the press conference bookmarked unfortunately. He said he had heard it a few times when he was still at Wisconsin but nobody was man enough to call him that to his face. So yes. Bert is aware he's Bert.
