Has a fanbase ever rode a former player constantly like Auburn has with Cam?

He was only there one year but you'd think he was still on the roster the way they talk about him and constantly give you updates.

If he wins the Super Bowl, will you guys roll the trees? serious question.

At least Cam won the SEC and BCS title. Manziel's claim to fame was beating Bama in 2012.

How many more threads can we expect from rival fans on this exact same subject?

Of course it was temporary, he did this little thing called graduation, I'm sure you're not familiar with that concept.

Yes. Pirates fans are still mad about game 6 of the 1991 NLCS

He was there for a total of one semester in 2010. He didn't graduate.

He did however go back and finish classes over a period of 3 years since hes been in the NFL.

The dude is literally going to win the Superbowl and be named the league MVP and your mad they talk about him?

ETA: His best wideout is Ted fricking Ginn.

If he went to LSU I would start a thread about him every 13 seconds.

It is kind of weird- the sudden die-hard fandom of the Panthers. I've heard college fans say they're fans of a player on a team, but I don't think I've ever heard of college fans becoming fans of an NFL team simply because one single player is on it.

Time to let 2010 go m8.

How can that arse still be sore?

Guy plays in the NFL now.

Nothing wrong with being proud of how he does, just like how Cooper has done or even cheering for AJ this year.

On the local sports talkshow, the host had callers saying what their most hated team was. It wasn't Ohio State, Ravens, Pitt, etc.... the Braves were actually the most mentioned

Probably not but to be fair no other fanbase has an icon to ride like Cam.
