Yeah that's not what happened but if it makes you sleep better at night to tell yourself that, by all means, keep it up.

If it had been a classic back and forth, last team with the ball wins sort of game, it would be different. Or even a field position chess match. We could have said, "we gave it our best shot, y'all just wanted it more" and other meaningless cliches.
But wasn't that just what it turned into after the returned punt? LSU just managed to trade a punt with a couple of Auburns and put AU deeper than AU punted back until LSU got enough yards for the go-ahead field goal.

Am I the only person who saw AU throw multiple incompletions in the 2nd half? Not sure what the stats were but I'm guessing something in the range of 4/15 with most of those 4 completions being to RBs in the flat. They weren't successful at much of anything in the last half including the run game - personally I think AU had a better chance to win if they'd committed more to the run, even in 3rd and 4 type situations. Bottom line, I don't think AU lost this game due to poor coaching - give LSU's defense some credit - great job all around in stopping a solid physical offense with a veteran OL.

AU had 4 dropped balls in the 2nd half. An argument could be made if they catch any of them they win the game. One for sure would have resulted in points which likely would have won the game. IMO both LSU and Auburn are average teams. So I am not suggesting we lost to some greatly inferior team. However, to call our OL veteran is silly. We have several older guys, but they are average to below average at best. Now they are average to below average at best with 2 beginning of the season starters out. For all the talk of LSU dropping a safety in the box...the biggest change in Auburn's offense occurred when the starting center (who was playing because of an OL injury) went out forcing the left guard to move to center and bringing in the 3rd string left guard. From that point on Auburn struggled to run the ball. It got worse in the 2nd half when LSU dropped the safety and our WR's got the dropsies.
I was not an Auburn fan who believed this team was truly a contender...I saw talent with the ability to develop into a contender. I believe Auburn is better than LSU, but not by much. I absolutely believe the coaching staff at LSU on the whole is better than the one at Auburn. I wouldn't want to trade head coaches though.

It's as if some of these coaches say things and do things so they can build a case to get fired and receive their buyouts. Wth?

LSU sucks arse and should have lost by 50.
So, what you're saying is LSU made Auburn quit?

Why not?
Apparently ours can put together a better staff.
And if your board is any indication, then ours can also get out of his staff's way, unlike yours.

OF all quotes I've seen from Malzahn, not a single one has credited LSU for sticking in and fighting hard to come back. Sign of a shitty person right there.
Agreed. Not a good look for Gus. Plus, I would think in this scenario it'd be easier to admit the other team played hard and won it rather than trying to explain how yours blew a 20 point lead.

Congrats on the win. Be cautious about thumping your chest on O. There was a time in the not so distant past Auburn fans worried the NFL would steal Gus and pundits believed Gus would become Saban's kryptonite.
O inherited the coach on his staff worth two cents. The other coach was out coached by Steele...the guy ya'll warned us sucked.

Remember, according to LSU fans, coaching had nothing to do with it. It was all the elite unstoppable athleticism of the tigahz

23-14 at half and Gus thinks his lead is safe. Idiot.

Obviously, he was thinking we could pin LSU deep and trust our defense to hold them - but he was relying on a freshman walk-on punter in his first legitimate pressure situation, which ended up being a mistake (25 yard punt). Also sent a message to the offense than he didn't think we could get a foot when we needed to.
Sure, had LSU gotten the stop there I'm sure a few would blame Gustav for being stupid - but being stupid hasn't been his problem, being gutless has. I know I'd feel better about his decision making if he had gone for it and gotten stopped than I do now.

Cmon, how sad is this? A head coach who's only attribute previously has been his offensive schemings is being grilled at the presser for potentially calling offensive plays. Sweatertard acts like he's being asked to confess to murder, and denies any involvement other than on a philosophical level.
Law & Order sounds follow.
7 million dollar buyout, luckiest fricker on the planet.

LSU had several miscues as well. Yall lost, no need to try to marginalize it.
