The Gumps are gonna have a major meltdown when they find out Nebraska not only sold out (81,000) their spring game but that all but 15,000 student tickets went for $95.00 a pop!

Not quite. Scalpers were able to find some idiots willing to pay $95. The reserved seats were sold by the school for $10 and general admission were sold for $8.

Just the fact that yall are getting your panties in a wad over reading this is comical. Who really gives a shite about the attendance to a practice?

Link????

Tuscaloosa News has 78,200. LINK

And I'm sure that it's mostly for the same reason we filled the stadium to the brim last year. New coach, new hype. Congrats to them though.

Alabama had 78,200 folks turn out for its spring game last weekend. This after a college football-record spring-game crowd of 92,138 showed up in 2007

Bama is slipping! I think Nicks shine is dulling a bit.

I think Husker fans are just as stupid as Gumps. Doesn't anyone remember the 80's sugar bowls when the one tooth per person huskers came for a visit? Their living in the past nearly as bad as the gumps

No meltdown here. I could care less if a team has 1 or 100,000 at a spring game, especially bama.

How is it 'stupid' ? Personally, unless LSU's spring game was across the street,I wouldn't go and couldn't care less. But,if 4000 or 90,000 want to go to a Spring Game, what's wrong with it ? How is it any different from a 4-5,000 grown men each first Wednesday in February taking a day off work to go to an old warehouse to watch faxes from 17 yr old boys be transmitted and drink beer to celebrate each fax ? That's 'brainy' ?

nothing wrong with it...IMO it's a "stupid" waste of time to watch a practice in the spring or to focus on some kid signing his name to a sheet of paper. Never been to either nor do I have a desire to go.

as i posted yesterday in a thread

Anytime there is a ton of excitement or some type of "unknown" or "unexpected" element, it helps, like Bama having a well-known new coach....if Miles left and we got a premier coach to take his place I guarantee you the Spring Game attendence would be higher....but, I'm fine with National Championships and 40k at the spring games

im not sure about that.. when saban left there was a good fan fair for miles, and the spring game attendance was still low his first year.
