I told them we will eat that freshman up if he makes it to Baton Rouge.

They seem to think he is the next coming of Johnny Football. Gump fans are so full of shite.

If they go with a true frosh, they won't make it to BR without a loss.

Eta: They'll lose to UTe and OM.

He's an early enrollee freshman from Channelview Texas. All reports indicate he is outperforming the other QBs both mentally and physically. Dad was a high school coach. We won't know how good he is until he gets hit. It's all fun and games in the no contact jersey. We are admittedly excited that we have a freshman talented enough to be in the conversation, whether he wins the job or not.

His senior highlights if you're interested or curious

Very impressive. Still, he'll have a huge learning curve, but if that's who Saban and Kiffin decide's gives them the best chance to win so be it. I just can't see a National Championship run with a true freshman leading the way.

If they beat LSU and win the national championship with a true freshman QB, I quit.

I agree. At least Manziel was a redshirt Freshman when he tore through the league. (He didn't tear through LSU though).

Get tired of hearing about how he is going to be so special and that he will win Heisman one day.

Their OL is more important than who plays QB for them. Look at their last two QB's.

They put their QBs in position to succeed. Whichever guy gets the nod will be good enough as long as he keeps the turnovers down.

After watching hurts senior highlights I was more impressed with how open his receivers were and less with his throwing ability. It seemed in the highlights he was generally the biggest and fastest player on the field. That highlight reel doesn't due him justice. In the Bamma spring game he clearly looked like the best QB. Although he only played against the 3rd string.
Maybe not this year, but in the future this kid is going to be a force to reckon with. The only thing that will derail his career is if he gets arrested in a park after hours with drugs and a stolen gun.

Kiffin has proven he can call plays to the strength of his QB. Sims broke the passing record making it to the playoff and the dude last year brought them a title. Both first year starting guys (although both seniors) that figured it out as the year went on with a stellar supporting cast.

Seen him in high school a lot and he is the real deal. He will have his troubles as a freshman but with kiffin he will be force in the future.

LSU fans would never, never hype a player they had never seen play before, especially not at QB. Stupid Gumps.

I stopped worrying about Bama's qb when they won the title last year with Coker. Chances are, they'll never get worse than that guy and still managed to win it all.

As another poster said, if they win the west with a true freshmen qb, I'll stop caring about college football until Saban leaves.
Most schools are fighting for winning seasons with true freshmen under center.

I just watched his spring game tape and I'm not getting the hype. A beautiful spiral is overrated, but that kid is throwing ducks. He shows some skill at sensing pressure and avoiding it, but his arm is nothing special. If you want to see a force to be reckoned with, go watch Eason.
