Said they played 10 in the box when LSU was running.

Maybe LSU should try to mix it up and Bama never had 10 in the box.

He's the one I didn't get. O said that Guice ran like Warren's Sapp.

Wait, what? Warren Sapp? the DT?

I don't recall reports of him having suffered multiple concussions in the past. Maybe I missed it but he's clearly showing symptoms.

That's just moronic, even if it was true (which, lol). Why would you say something like that?

Damn, Bama is so afraid of losing. It is so pathetic.

Bama didn't have to stack the box to stop LSU. We brought one extra defender 13 times, and not once brought more than one extra into the box.

It's like LSU players don't watch film or something.

To clarify, he didn't actually say that this time. He said it during the 2016 season, was asked about it today, and basically said "yea, that's right".

There might be some offenses Alabama is scared of. LSU isn't one of them.

Nothing says fear like getting shut out....again.

And as far as complaining about 10 in the box - not true, but even if it was, that just means you fricking suck if you still lost.

2015 Game

quote:

I went through each LSU play before the Tide went up by 20 points in the fourth quarter. I also excluded plays in which LSU was using three or more receivers or facing third-and-long, because the threat of the run is reduced in those situations. I removed goal line, because that's a different calculus.

quote:

@RossDellenger

#Bama in the box on 17 Fournette carries (2 goal snaps excluded)

9 men: 1
8: 5
7: 6
6: 5

quote:

Alabama did not gamble or sell out to stop LSU's run. It did not invite LSU to throw. It did not outnumber LSU at the point of attack, but outmuscled a very good LSU line. Plays like the one below were common.

The idea that Alabama loaded the box all night and that LSU failed to adjust is false.

2016 Game

quote:

I looked at every standard down — defined by Bill Connelly as first down, second-and-7 or fewer, and third-and-4 or fewer — with the exception of the drive right before the half and the final drive, because running the football did not make sense in those situations, due to the game clock.

The results? Out of 27 plays, Alabama brought an extra defender into the box 13 times, and did not bring two extra on any I charted; 48 percent is actually up slightly from 2015’s 38 percent figure, likely due to the closer nature of the 2016 contest.

Our front 7 has been so insanely good from 2014-2016 we're bound to see some sort of drop off this season. Need some guys to step up and it's time Hand broke out

I honestly don't think the drop off will begin this year. Alabama's front 7 will still be very dominant.

Bama scared because they stacked the box
