Could you imagine what would happen if TN hires Gruden and he falls flat on his face and leaves in the middle of the night, ala Kiffin.
Gruden's been out of football since Moses was a child. HS recruits have no idea who the guy is.
It would be the last straw for UT. They could bulldoze that stadium into the river, singing a very faint Ricky Top.

Gruden has a .540 winning percentage in the NFL and hasn't coached in college in almost 30 years. He may get hired at UT and wreck shite but on paper, I'll never get the hype.

Yep. 75% of football is having a relentless, obsessive recruiter at HC. The fact that Gruden has stayed in the booth for a decade while supposedly being in such high demand for college openings tells you all you need to know. The guy has lost any competitive drive he used to have.
