Apparently it's a legal OTC substance.
Makes this even more frustrating

If he didn't talk to the coaches to make sure it was NCAA compliant, then it's all on him.

While it seems ticky tack, he should have known to get it cleared with the strength staff.

None of this would have happened were Muschamp in charge. McElwain has to go

That doesn't make it okay for him to try and gain a competitive advantage with it. This is way worse than deer antler spray

Thank goodness another thread was created to discuss this brand new topic.

Just because it isn't regulated, doesn't mean it's legal for use in sports. This stuff is still being tested.
quote:
SARMs—short for “selective androgen receptor modulators”—are synthetic drugs designed to have effects similar to those of testosterone. SARMs of any kind are not legal as ingredients in any type of dietary supplement and are prohibited for use in sport. SARM drugs such as Ostarine® and Andarine® are still in the research and testing stages. If you have purchased or considered SARM products labeled as dietary supplements that list such ingredients on their Supplement Facts panels, then we strongly advise not using such products because they pose significant health and readiness risks. Ostarine and similar SARM drugs also might cause positive results for service members tested for steroids. Importantly, use of such “agents” might stop the natural release of your own testosterone, which could be a problem. Some of the ingredient names to watch out for on dietary supplement product labels and websites include (but are not limited to) the following:
Andarine® (GTx-007, S-4, or S4)
Enobosarm (Ostarine®, MK-2866, GTx-024, and (2S)-3-(4-cyanophenoxy)-N-[4-cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanamide*)
LGD-2226
LGD-3303
Ligandrol® (LGD-4033)
S-22
YK-11, YK-11-OA (TLR-111)

Does the NCAA draw a distinction between illegal steroids and OTC stuff that they just prohibit? Seems to me that something from GNC shouldn't have the same penalty attached as Trenbolone.
