I had just gotten married and we were in this new house that had this ugly hat rack on the wall that I couldn't remove from the wall for anything. I was so pissed after that game I grabbed the hat rack and perfectly jerked it off the wall. My wife said I guess that was one good thing about Bama winning.

How about auburn almost losing at home to Utah state in their first game after winning the national championship.

Florida/ULL 2012 comes to mind right off the bat...
watch and remember how close UF was to losing to ULL...
LINK
tied 20-20 with a few seconds left going into OT and ULL decides to punt... blocked and returned for the game winning TD by UF... couldn't believe it at the time.

Tennessee had 13 men on the field allowing LSU an untimed down where Ridley ran it in for a TD.
That game epitomized Derek Dooley's era at UT

1997- 4 win Alabama goes into JHS to battle west champs Auburn and leads throughout the game, 17-6 in the 4th and Bama needed one first down to pull of the miraculous upset and Ed Scissum fumbles a screen pass with around a minute remaining. Auburn only needed to drive about 25 yds or so to be in FG range and promptly did for the winning FG. Bama missed a 60 yarder on the games final play.
1999- 2-6 LSU (0 wins in the SEC) comes into Bryant Denny to face the west champion Tide. Trailing 23-17 Josh Booty takes the Tigers down the field masterfully and with seconds remaining tries to go over the top on a rollout and is stopped short.
1993- UK- Florida. Kentucky leads 20-17 and Chris Doering carches a play on the final play of the game to prevail 24-20.

This thread should be titled South Carolina's greatest hits.
There was this one - two straight perfect passes to Jared Cook, who just couldn't catch the ball to save his life. He's somehow still in the NFL, despite not doing a whole lot in school. He's like the Patrick Pass of Carolina football. Also, Auburn had the ball the entirety of the third quarter, due to an onside kick recovery.
2005 UGA/USC. Spurrier's first conference game. Carolina heads into Athens and puts the fear into the future SEC champions. Lost to UGA 17-15.
2006 USC/UF. Meyer's first National Championship squad, which barely squeaks by USC thanks to two blocked FGs from a player (Jarvis Moss) who should have been suspended due to drug use. Still one of the greatest games played in the conference in the last decade. If USC wins that game, it's Ohio State/Michigan rematch for the national title. Florida wins 17-16.
2010 USC/Auburn. Carolina led most of the game, and even took a 27-21 lead into the fourth quarter. Cam does what Cam did that year, and wills Aubie to the 35-27 win.
2003 USC/UTK - Holtz takes Fat Phil to OT, but Caveman Clausen sneaks out the victory. No. 8 UTK, a week after beating UF, sneaks out of Neyland with the 26-23 OT win.
We're all ministers in the First Church of the Gamecock Heartbreak.

2) I think it was 2006?- Auburn vs. South Carolina- some gamecock receiver dropped a wide open, easy as can be touchdown and SC lost the game by 7. 24-17.

Might could have just renamed this thread the History of Gamecock football.
Anyway, South Carolina lost to Florida in the Swamp in 2006 17-16 on a blocked last second field goal. Jarvis Moss, who had tested positive for drugs earlier that week but Urban allowed to play anyway, blocked a couple of field goals including the last one. Had another 55 yard field goal erased by a delay of game penalty that couldn't have been more than a .001 of a second. Also missed a point after.
Florida survived and went on to win the national title. And Moss learned his lesson as he was forced to sit out the next game...against Western Carolina or some other similar powerhouse.

1994 UT vs Bama - Bama rolls into Knoxville ranked #10, facing Freshman QB Manning. Bama scores with 3 minutes left in the game to go ahead 17-13. Manning drives 70 yards, only to turn it over on downs at the 10 yard line with 1 minute left. Bama's only loss that season was to Florida in the SEC CG. Manning would win his next 7 starts and 37 of his next 42. Yes, Florida fans...3 of those 5 losses were to Florida.

huge underdog fell just short of beating a heavily favored opponent (in an SEC conference game).
Haven't read the whole thread, so SIAP, but in 1993, Kentucky had Florida on the ropes until Danny Wuerffel (then a freshman) threw a 20-something yard TD with just a few seconds left to pull out a close win.
2012 Auburn barely fell short 12-10 vs. LSU and had several opportunities in the second half to take the lead, but couldn't.
2006 Ole Miss took one of the best LSU teams in recent memory to overtime in Tiger Stadium before losing 23-20. For added drama, the Rebs blocked what would have been a game-winning extra point after LSU scored in the final 10 seconds of regulation to tie it 20-20.
Of course, the 2014 Arkansas-Alabama game was almost a huge upset.
That was just a few off the top of my head. There are many more, I'm sure.

It's weird, we won the SEC and the Sugar Bowl but that season could've been so much more if Spurrier hadn't been so damn loyal to Terry Dean over Wuerffel.

Arkansas was undefeated and #10 when they lost to UT in '98.

Holy shite let's just call it the Reddit CFB SEC Rant.
Who gives a crap where the topics come from? I've never even visited Reddit, and I'm sure many others here don't visit Reddit either. It's the off-season. Any thread that generates good discussion is a good thread, IMO.
