Bartow accused Bear Bryant of cheating in a letter to the NCAA in 1991.

quote:

In August 1995, the NCAA Infractions Committee found four rules violations by the Alabama football program. Alabama cornerback Antonio Langhamsigned with a sports agent and applied to enter the NFL draft in January 1993, and allegedly received deferred-payment loans. Alabama's football program was placed on probation with scholarship limitations, and a one-year post-season ban (1995). Eight wins and one tie from the 9–3–1 1993 season were forfeited.[163]

In February 2002, Alabama was sanctioned for providing impermissible benefits. The NCAA report states that a recruiter gave a prospective student $20,000 in cash, lodging and entertainment. During the 2000 season, an assistant football coach in Memphis, Tennessee claimed an Alabama boosterpaid him US$50,000 to encourage one of his players to sign with Alabama.[164][165] A secret witness that helped convict the University of Alabama was later revealed to be Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer.[166][167]The report included allegations of paying a high school coach to influence a prospect, violations of rules for honesty and cooperation, expense-paid visits to the campus, and cash payments to other football players. Although the NCAA stated that the University fully cooperated with the enforcement staff, Alabama received probation from 2002 to 2006, a post-season ban in 2002 and 2003, and loss of 21 scholarships over 3 years.[168]

quote:

In June 2009, Alabama was sanctioned for textbook and supplies-related infractions, valued at approximately $40,000, involving 201 student-athletes in 16 sports. The football program was forced to vacate 21 wins from the 2005–2007, pay a $43,900 fine, and received a public reprimand and censure. The football program was placed on three years probation, which ended in June 2012.[169][170][171] The university stated "none of the textbooks or materials was used for profit or to get items not related to academics, and that the athletes involved who still have eligibility remaining have had to pay restitution."[172] Alabama's appeal of the ruling was unsuccessful.[173]

quote:

In April 2003, news reports claimed Alabama head coach Mike Price spent several hundred dollars at a strip club inPensacola, Florida, and that $1,000 of room service was charged to the University. Coach Price was dismissed for behavior unbecoming a representative of the University of Alabama, before ever coaching a game.[98] Following a Sports Illustratedarticle that elaborated on the incident, Price sued the magazine fordefamation,[174][175] and sued the University, claiming wrongful termination.[176] The lawsuit against the University of Alabama was dismissed and the lawsuit against Sports Illustratedwas settled out of court.[177]

Defensive back Eddie Williams, 20, and linebackers Tyler Hayes and D.J. Pettway, both 18, were shown the door after being charged with second-degree robbery for their involvement in the separate robberies of two students on the Tuscaloosa campus on Feb. 11. They were subsequently barred from campus while awaiting a ruling from the Student Judicial Boar

quote:

Johns, who was moved from running back to linebacker this spring, was arrested Tuesday morning in Tuscaloosa and charged with five felony counts of distributing cocaine

quote:

In 1992, former Alabama player Gene Jelks, who had been recruited by Perkins, publicly accused Alabama coaches and boosters of providing him with illegal cash payments and other inducements during his recruitment and years at Alabama (Jelks played from 1985–1989).

Auburn wagging their finger at Alabama about cheating has always been my favorite Auburn high horse technique.

Yeah, our little brothers certainly have no room to holler "cheating" at anyone.

Thanks for the credit. If I cared enough, I'd make a bulleted list of how Auburn sucks.

If the NCAA looked at Alabama with the same scrutiny they have looked at Auburn, Alabama may not have a single National Championship.

Auburn pointing a finger at cheating is like Dean Martin telling someone they drink to much.

Also, we've heard for a few years now that nothing was ever proven on Cam. Well, Bryant never got in trouble at Bama. Not saying stuff didnt happen because we all do it whether you want to admit it or not but Bama was never on probation one single day so....If Cam is innocent because it wasnt proven, gotta go that way too here.

Blinded by hatred, Jelks spilled his guts to Larry, a man he later learned had ties to Auburn University. Jelks said several Auburn supporters pressed him to report Alabama at the time, providing him with a home, cash and anything else he needed.

This would be funnier if Auburn was never punished by the NCAA, under investigation or had ex players speaking about impermissible benefits on HBO specials or other media outlets. Also would help if Auburn didn't win the Fulmer cup more than the SEC West.

It wouldn't be very long. We're pretty close to perfect. If you like barely making bowl eligibility and shite like that. We look perfect through a pair of shite covered binoculars.

Reese Dismukes arrested for public intoxication

4 Auburn players involved in armed robbery

12 Auburn players tested positive for synthetic marijuanna test. Auburn kept test confidential

quote:

In one extreme case, a freshman tight end, Dakota Mosley, failed seven consecutive weekly tests for the drug, but never was punished. (He was suspended for three months in a separate incident after he tested positive for marijuana.) The Arkansas native says he learned he'd failed a sixth test on the same day he was scheduled to meet with NCAA investigators to discuss a probe into potential recruiting violations.

Instead of being kicked off the team, Mosley was brought into then-coach Gene Chizik's office and told he could keep his spot on the team.

"The whole time, I was thinking, 'They can't do nothing about the spice,' " Mosley told The Magazine and "E:60."

Report: Auburn bribed players

quote:

Auburn's football program changed players' grades to secure eligibility, offered money to potential NFL draft picks so they would return for their senior seasons, and violated NCAA recruiting rules under former coach Gene Chizik, according to a report by former New York Times and Sports Illustrated writer Selena Roberts.

quote:

According to his uncle, Andre Dyer, Michael Dyer said he was "never even close" to being academically ineligible prior to the 2011 BCS national championship game.

Auburn defensive end Elijah Daniel kicked off team following arrest

Auburn hit with 2-year probation.

quote:

The NCAA infractions committee hit the school with one of its toughest penalties in recent years in the wake of charges that a former player received cash from Auburn coaches and boosters.

Auburn was placed on two-years' probation and will be banned from postseason play for the next two years. In addition, Auburn also received a one-year television ban, a seldom-used sanction in the 1990s. The ban is for this year, but it may be pushed into next season because of the school's contractual commitments.

Former Auburn coach and athletic director Pat Dye was charged with having a lack of institutional control over the athletic program, but he was not found to have had knowledge of the cash payments.

4 Auburn players speak on receiving illegal benefits at AU

quote:

Stanley McClover, who played at Auburn from 2003-05, said he received $4,000 after recording four sacks against Alabama and that he received money in a book bag during the recruiting process. He also said he received a $500 handshake at LSU and sexual favors at Ohio State while being recruited. He originally committed to Ohio State, but then switched to Auburn after he said he received money.
