I just posted this to the LSU board but I figured it'd be good to show here too!

The lower seams will help the ball to travel 20 feet further which could easily be the difference between a HR and pop out!

I've wanted this for a while now. I heard during one of the super regionals it was being talked about

Clemson coach is pushing hard for this to be in play next season, has 58 of 60 coaches approval thus far.

I was wondering how close it was to becoming a reality! Thanks for that info!

I hope it becomes a reality sooner rather than later.
I don't want gorilla ball to come back, but just a little more pop.

One of the few things Jack is right about.

Have you heard that from somewhere? All the coverage on it indicates they will fast-track the ball change.

Aaron Fitt said it's still going to be another year or two before we see it in play back a few months ago in one of his chats.
And that was the fast track he said.

Weaker baseball, MLB average homerun travels 396 feet, same statistics applied to college baseball it travels 376 feet.

I suppose it counteracts the metal bats?

Too much, hence the change coming.

The "metal bats" have the same ball-exit speed as wood bats. They are not more powerful anymore. So basically college hitters are at a bigger disadvantage than MLB hitters in power. There's debate on the sweet spot with BBCOR bats vs. wood but generally it seems to be the BBCOR still is a little more forgiving than a wood bat (once again though, doesnt have more power).
