I am still reeling from Saturdays game. Chavis called a great game.

Please tell me after one game what you think of Mazzone's offense? He is the reason why UCLA had a chance to win the game in regulation.

He's also the reason we won.

Spav would not have won that game.

Also, given the choice of your current OC and Maz, I'll take Maz.

Good morning alter. I think he's an improvement over our last OC. 31-24

You are so obsessed with Mazzone.

I think his offense is better than Spavital's.

I think that other than the 4th quarter, it enabled us to control the ball and rest our defense, which we have never done before under Sumlin, which was a part of why our defense performed as well as it did.

I don't think he is a great OC. I never thought he was. I was critical of the hire in the first place, check my post history. HOWEVER, he is competent, which our former OC was NOT. In that respect, it is a vast improvement.

He was not the reason why you won, but the PAC 12 ref the caused the snap Rosen was not ready for. This is per Mora, I have not had the heart to go back and watch this play. It was after UCLA's Jordan Lasley dropping a sure TD on a crossing pattern. The next play Karma kicked Rosen's cocky arse, this too I missed where he taunted 102 screaming Aggie fans.

Just as UCLA oline was getting ready to set, the ref tapped the center, he had not done this all game long. This was what UCLA was doing as a silent snap, the left guard would pat the center letting him know he could snap the ball, but in this case the guard did not do that the ref did, that is why Josh was not ready for the snap and that caused him to lose the LB who had dropped into coverage. Karma is bitch. Josh should not have tempted fate that is what won the game for the Aggies. But UCLA should not have even been able to score 15 pts under 2 minutes.

Here is the video in which I thought Mora was talking about in yesterday's press conference and nope, it just Karma Kicking Rosen's arse for taunting the Aggie crowed.

LINK

Just saying you have a keeper in Chavis but he can only do so much when you have a brain dead OC. Now don't get me wrong, Mazzone will dial a beautiful game and suck you back in, its like taking your first hit of cocaine always chasing that high.

I wish all you Aggie fans the best, you are too good of a fan base to be given Mazzone. Many Bruins who made the trip to College Station had a blast and said the Aggie fans were among the best, in fan support and hospitality.

Obsessed with Mazzone..... meh just still bitter about his play calling while at UCLA. There were a few he through a tone of stats at me when I first brought Mazzone's tendencies. Even on the game winning touch down every Bruin fan was ready for the zone read, you could see Vanderdoes do an aw frick when he bit on the fake, eve the end bit as well instead of keeping his assignment which was the Knight keeping the ball and he just walked in, but if not for the above that opportunity does not present itself.

Mazzone is the reason we won because our last OC would not have even put us into the situation to have a winnable game.

And lol, yeah, it was the ref's fault you lost. UCLA beat themselves, not us.

Yes. He did frick up in the last 15 minutes of regulation. That was some shitty play calling.

Had it been a decent team, we would not have recovered to get the W. We are not ranked for a reason. It was an ugly win over a very average UCLA squad that had no business being in the top 25.

TBH, we have to play 5 division opponents that are much more talented and deep than UCLA. After our performance on Saturday, it is clear to me that we will lose some games this year.

Mazzone was ok. Some good stuff early, maddeningly bad late in the game. We need to make improvements on offense and on defense.

But Rosen is a fantastic QB.

I can only preach what I witnessed for four years and will not be labor the part. Josh was way off his game. He was matched in fall camp by the walk on QB. I am not blaming the ref, Josh still is the one who through the ball. That though was Karma if true. Again I did not see that at the time the play had rolled out. The SEC is staked 7 high and the went 7-7 this weekend.

This is one of the worst excuses I have ever seen for losing. Oh, and that wasn't a LBer, it was our SS.

Rosen didn't lose the game for you and neither did the ref. Your WRs repeatedly dropping catchable passes while wide open for touchdowns did.

How many teams beat higher ranked teams after losing their starting LT and best running back for half the game? Try to pin it on Mazz but the oline that was out there trying to kill the clock had what one start between the five of them and true fish running the ball. The only reason UCLA had a chance was a blown call that should have been a int in the endzone, a blown fumble call, and a lucky hail mary pass. No way Spav wins that game.

Seems to me like his offense ran all over UCLA with maybe the most inexperienced OL in college football.

Wasn't impressed with Rosen. That first pick where he lobbed it over his head while being sacked was just bad. Something I'd anticipate an SEC rant poster doing were they QB.

Should have had 4 picks total.

Receivers dropped several catchable throws; however Rosen had several horrible misses as well. Even the one long TD pass wasn't that good of a throw, just bad defense and the receiver doing a good job adjusting.

As for Mazzone, the 4th quarter was bad but overal I thought he did well. Our offense outside of WR was a huge unknown coming into this season. Thought it went about as good as can be expected. Also, as evidenced by Rosen, even if a good play is called the players have to execute.

What I think is that he ran the read option to win the game b/c he once again has a QB who can run worth a damn.

Yes.

We face at least 7 defenses better than UCLA. We proved about as much as Tennessee did by beating App State. We proved no more than Arky did in beating La Tech, or Michigan State over Furman. Maybe even less.

UCLA sucks. Their final win/loss will be deceiving because they will likely plow through the Pac12 like crock-potted chicken shite, because there may be one complete defense among the 12 shitty teams in the Pac.

I love the focus on the interior run game, but I hate that he abandoned the interior run game at the exact wrong time.

The verdict is out for me on Mazzone.

Honestly, Trevor Knight is the one I'm worried about. He's going to lose us a couple games this year. The talent is there to just hand it off and distribute to the WR's, but every once in awhile, he thinks he's Cam Newton or Johnny Football. Need him to chill out on that.
