Taking my son to every SEC stadium before he graduates High School. He's in 7th grade.

We will be the ones in Purple and Gold... Prayers please...

Dickson is a fantastic place to eat/drink before the game. Enjoy!

It's in Fayetteville and we're not playing you, you'll be fine.

If it was the Little Rock game after Thanksgiving I'd say bring earmuffs and Kevlar.

I'm not sure how "electric" the atmosphere will be but there will be a ton of excitement in the air to see our team for the first time. sec nation will be there. have a good time on Dixon street. the game should be over by half time so the air might be pretty dead by the 4th qtr.

There is a museum in the north endzone that is open before the games. Cool to walk around and see some things. It's right by where the team walks to the stadium and prime tailgating spots.

That's really cool that you're doing that. My dad and I have been doing the same thing for years. Only stadium we haven't visited is Vandy.

You're not missing anything.

There are Texas high school stadiums that are better.

Hell, MTSU's stadium next door is arguably better.

First time I was there, my brother was being recruited in the 90's... They treated us well. He chose LSU :) I enjoyed the trip though.

Dickson.

I've lived in this town for more then twenty years and I still keep spelling it Dixon. I even dated a girl that was a bartender on Dickson so I walked down the street several times a week for two years.

To the OP look around at some of the places to go and things to do while you are up here. If you are looking to do anything in particular just let us know and we'd be glad to suggest some options for you.

Any suggestions are appreciated. We just moved to the area and haven't learned it yet. Thanks!

There's not gonna be an upset in this game. Maybe some upset UTEP fans.

Doe's on Dickson for the best steaks ever

Foghorn's Wings south of the stadium for the best sports bar, a crap ton of TV's to watch before the game.

I'm sure more Hog fans will give you more suggestions.

Enjoy your visit.

Get access to the Arkansas subforum if you can, we usually are chattering away about something to do with the area. It is a bit warm at the moment but when fall starts if your family likes nature then check out some of the nature trails through town or Devil's Den.

Dickson has some nice restaurants but there are some ethnic choices around the area that serve great food. I'm a poor choice of guide in that respect, I rarely eat out since I like cooking. But many of our posters really know where the good spots are in town.

Depending on what you like to do there are quite a few options up here.
