0-8 this year, new rival vs. old coach in the SECCG and the whole damn state is now covered in ice! Y'all be safe out there. I'm in DFW and it's a shitshow here, just listening to the branches of our tree out front snapping off hoping the whole damn thing doesn't topple into our house. Got plenty of booze though, and power, so that's good.

I was in Hope, Arkansas for a big ice storm in 1983. was cray cray and spooky watching trees fall over due to the weight of the ice.
Where I got my first lessons of driving on ice as well.

I rode out a few ice storms in Dallas. It was nice getting out of work, but you can't go anywhere. Be safe.

not the airport, the area. Frisco specifically. Have a nice mesquite tree out front, poor thing is having a rough time. hope it survives.

side note: my 4 month old pup loves it, can't even enough the snow and ice.

Yeah, that lesson would be not driving. Snow covered roads are doable but ice covered roads are impossible to drive on. Disaster waiting to happen if you even attempt it.
Funny you mention 1983 ice storm because the last major ice storm where I grew up (West Central Alabama) was in January 1982 and it was a doozy. I was barely 7 but I do remember it being cold as frick and the pine tree limbs looked amazing with the caked on ice on the pine needles. Lots and lots of pine tree limbs down.

I live in Bella Vista, AR (1 mile from Missouri State line) and we have about 10-12 inches of snow over a thin sheet of sleet and freezing rain and it is still coming down like crazy. Supposed to stop this afternoon. Predicting -1*F tonight. Going to go to the North Pole to thaw out. Will get up to 34*F next Thursday.

in-laws live in BV, any frozen precip and you're stuck, way too hilly to even try to get out.
really worried about my tree, not falling into my house but surviving. this sucks.

I love snow and would be loving those conditions.
Btw, it's not hard to tell where the arctic front is right now. Just an insane temperature gradient in Alabama and Mississippi right now. It's currently 74 degrees at the Shelby County airport in the southern suburbs of Bham while just 50 miles north in Cullman it's 41 degrees. A 33 degree temperature difference only 50 miles apart.

Just thankful it is not ice. I moved to Bella Vista in 1990. Had an ice storm that left 7-8 inches of ice three days before Christmas. Did not get out until after New Years Day.

We've been warned about false messiahs, especially those who perform seeming miracles.

As someone that grew up in the DFW I think I missed more days of school due to ice as opposed to actual snow.
