I doubt he wants to take on Saban and Freeze every year.

Great recruiter. I would be interested to see the staff he puts in place. The transition to his offense might be tougher than you think, especially without a talented QB already on campus and LSU fans aren't exactly known for their patience.

Honest thought he could do well or not.

Rich Rod looked like a slam dunk after WVU. Charlie Strong looked like a slam dunk after UL. You never know really unless it's someone who has already had success at the highest levels.

Good hire. Let's see how he competes and recruits in the SEC.

LSU won't be able to get him. He's got a good thing going at Houston. He could really be building something there.

With the athletes lsu lands year in and year out someone with a fast paced spread type offense will score a lot of points. Pair that with a top 15 defense every year and it's a recipe for success.

He has only lost one game as a head coach and this is his second year. He is a good football coach but we would have to see how he does in the SEC against superior talent every year and consistently better teams each weekend instead of three games a year.

I think he will quickly realize how hard it is to compete against Nick Saban, then reevaluate all of his life decisions before going insane and being committed to some under ground cajun asylum.

He's been good so far but you never know how good a coach really is when they're at Go5 schools

Depends on if houston gets into the big whatever. Hermoan knows he can run that entire conference if he does. Didn't he just get a big contract extension and buyout? I figure southern cal has a better chance of landing him than lsu does.

We have 2 studs already committed. Both "true" pocket passers. Would be perfect for Herman.

Whole different ballgame. A great coach without a doubt but won't be coaching in the all American or whatever conference and have the most fertile recruiting area in the conference to himself. His football budget will no longer be twice that of other conference schools and his athletes will no longer be head and shoulders superior to his opponents. Oh, he'd win but not like LSU fans think.

I mean, I would consider it a "good hire"...but I think it might would take a little bit longer for them to get back to being a "threat" to the SEC, like some LSU fans seem to be imagining.
