Well I learned french in college and reading a lot of books and news sites in french. But I've been going through the italian, german, and spanish lessons on rosetta stone and I think for most people it's a good way to learn language.
It starts by teaching you basic nouns (boy, girl, cat, dog, woman, man, airplane, car) and then adds a couple verbs. So you learn by repetition. It focuses less on grammar and more on just hearing the differences between, say, "a boy is running" and "some boys are running".

Thx. I learned Spanish in HS/college, but haven't even tried to learn a new language in the past 10 or 12 years. Maybe it's time...

Cute little thread. Sure there are some people who live on this website and those people are losers in life.
The website is just an outlet and nothing more or less about it.
The people who take this website too serious are the idiots that try to control what others type. The other group of losers are those that spend time trying to figure out if you are an alter...whatever the hell that even means.

I have, but it worked better when I whispered Italian to her as she was Italian and way hotter than the french chicks.

I'm neither unattractive nor socially inept. My motivation for learning additional languages is not for the purpose of getting laid... Has more to do with living life to the fullest and broadening horizons... Improving my ability to travel the world seamlessly.
Getting laid is nice, but should not be the central motivation for all major decisions in life...
Your comment reminded me of the "Mission Control" scene in the old Woody Allen movie "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid to Ask)".
