Folks have tried and tried to get this game back on. Still refuse to play each other to this very day.
Tech and Bama played annually 1979-1984.

Would swap UGA for Tech tomorrow if I could. Better school, and program.

we're really not the school you wanna drag up all this ACC/SEC bull shite with ~ bug. it won't end well for you. you should just continue to worship Gamecock Cremins for giving Tech each & every one of its conference trophies in basketball since WWII.
You are all over the map. Yes we had a great basketball program under Cremins. We have also won ACC football championships. The point of my post is that we were in the SEC for 32 years and won 5 championships. Three of the current schools have had 52 additional years and haven't managed to pass Tulane with their 3 SEC championships. Schools such as Arkansas and South Carolina have been in the league now for 24 years and have ZERO SEC football championships. You are equals with former SEC member Sewanee in number of championships. The deficiency is yours and has nothing to do with what are post SEC record is.
Incidentally you guys are 9-12 against us all time.

Maybe you guys should get over your Bobby Dodd butt hurt and rejoin the conference?

The other part of G-Tech leaving the SEC was money ($$$). Yes surprise, surprise, money was involved as well. GTech did not like sharing their bowl revenue with the conference. Note: Bowl revenue was huge income source in those days and as such they wanted to keep it all for themselves.
Looking in the rear view mirror, I think they made a very poor decision.
Yes, a part of the reason was the deal with Bear and the recruiting issues w/Bear and Vaught etc. But make no mistake it was mostly about the almighty dollar.

I would be heavily in favor of rejoining the SEC. I think most GT fans would feel similarly.

tech just doesn't have an SEC "feel" though. ACC is right where you belong.
